How does Apple Store shipping work? I ordered the leather case from the partner store and its already "preparing to ship" but dates were 6 October+... I ordered in case JL didn't restock so I could cancel it later but that option has disappeared now since its changed to that

I jumped on to the Apple store at 6am on Friday morning. There was stock available and I grabbed it. They update daily and you could pick up much quicker
I was at the Apple Store on Friday to collect my Watch S8 when I mentioned that my iPhone 14 Pro was not due for delivery until mid-October. I was advised to return to the store this week, as they will be expecting more stock to arrive.

Did you get payment? I got “bounced “ and went on chat and told me they’d try again on Tues!
No I didn’t get the payment yesterday. They sent the bounced email about an hour after dropping off about 5 of us are in the same boat now, waiting for Tuesday.
True. The way they’ve implemented it means it’s not really AOD - they’ve just dimmed the display all the way down.
I now might be on the hunt for a regular Pro…
Even though I had the 13 Pro Max, I think using a regular 11 Pro for two weeks made me realise I don’t need the larger screen… and after having a play with my wife’s regular 14 Pro, I think I’m tempted to take this back and wait… annoyed at myself for being so indecisive.
I’m really happy with the pro and the ever so thinner bezels give a little more screen real estate!

I sent my 13p at 9am Saturday ( once the 14P was setup and confirmed as defect free
).
To my surprise the item has already been delivered ( next day).
When should I expect an acknowledgement / inspection /

About the battery life... I'm pretty impressed coming from a 12Pro, though maybe not mind-blowing as I'd hoped. I think the biggest difference so far is how much battery the 14Pro uses while idle and locked (note I've turned off AOD). My 12 wouldn't have lasted til 6pm with the same usage.

Doesn’t anyone think that all these “bounced” MM payments might be a matter of concern?
Alas, my worst fears appear to have been realised…. How you ‘lose’ a parcel is beyond me… I’m going to keep checking the serial to see if it gets activated…

Yeah we all do. But there’s nothing we can do apart from at least wait until the next working day to see if they’ve resolved it.
I had the same thought but didn't express it in case it caused additional worry to all the people caught out by the bouncing payments.
MM might just be short term cash limited and it will rectify in a few days.

I just sent the same feedback. The more of us that do it the more likely something will happen.
I also just sent one about the dynamic island as I think the control should be reversed. One tap to expand it and had press to open app.

Is it actually a Magsafe case (with magnets) or just MagSafe compatible (no magnets)?
It also changed to 1Hz refresh rate, there is more going on that just screen dimming…
I disagree with changing notch interaction… tap and hold doesn’t make sense in apple ecosystem to open an app, it’s always been tap once to open app and always been hold/Force Touch/3D touch to open sub menu/widgets, if you changed its interaction it would go against all apples other interaction rules?
You could argue dynamic is an app in its own right just it dynamically changes. When you click the island what do you want to happen or what is your expectation outside of what you think Apple makes sense?

Also worth noting that when I got the email confirming the pick up slot they said it would be held for 7 days and I could pick up anywhere in those 7 days.
I agree, that would be far more intuitive.
