It’s here! Despite DHL trying to deliver to the wrong address first and me having to go down as I saw the van
I’m really tempted to replace the older model which I have with this new one. I’m not sure if I can justify it though as my current one is working fine. If I had the 25% off code that might have been the incentive.
My plus has finally shipped!! Feel like I’ve been waiting for months!
Obvs cos I’ve had time to think I wonder if getting the bigger phone was the right thing. But I can just return it if I don’t like it.

Tough call I think.
For me, the higher price is an absolute no brainer for the extra that you get.
EDIT: Just realised that you’re comparing the 14 Plus with the 13 Pro Max.
The difference between the 14 Plus and the 14 Pro Max is only ÂŁ150. Still worth the extra in my view.
That would be my thought.
I’m not convinced the plus will be around more than 2 generations just like the mini.
It’s time they reduced the product line again.
Remember when Jobs once said we will get all the product lines on one table as it has got too diverse. I think we are there again.

It depends how carriers price the plus. Most mainstream buyers (not those on this forum) just go to the network and upgrade. If the monthly price of the plus is less than a pro max then it will do well.
When we were all waiting for our pro’s to be delivered and people were disappointed to having missed launch day deliveries etc, my dad ordered a normal iPhone 14 the day before release from O2 and got it delivered on release day. He didn’t care at all about the pro (or probably even know about then). His comments after he got it were “it’s basically the same as the last one” and “it’s £10 a month cheaper” and he’s happy because he can now use it at half time at the football because it has 5G!
Away from this forum I expect the plus will do just fine!

I look at SE, 12, 13 mini, 13 and 14 and think there’s a lot of product overlap there.

I think they need the phone to be back to two models.
6.1/6.7 and then an SE on the two yearly cycle.
iPads need seriously looking into.
i kind of get having mini, standard and pro in a range, whether it be phone or iPad. With pro actually being the Max in terms of spec. Same for iPad.
But the number of products means I think people will go to their carrier and get an iPhone 14 and not care about spec or other options as long as it’s the latest.

a bigger screen, better battery and weighs less than a standard pro... can see the appeal to many.. just not many of us here, as you say!

I still believe this line is designed for people who do not want to spend loads of money on a phone therefore don’t want or need a pro so it’s still a good option to have for a larger screen with way less weight
