Disappointed with the new iPad pricing so now trying to decide on the previous M1 Pro or the M1 Air from John Lewis without the inflated pricing. Tempted with the base air as I don’t tend to store much on my iPad

It sounds great, just what I need to find the elusive 14 PM, until I saw you need Big Sur or later. I’m still running High Sierra as I have a large Fusion Drive that doesn’t run well with the newer file system.
A few years ago there was another stock checker available, iStocknow or something, I’m guessing this no longer works?

I'm in a similar position. The Pros are too much for me but I do like my Air 3. Was thinking of an iPad 10 but it's not making me swoon over the iPad 9 (and it doesn't have headphone socket now). I might as well try and pick up a Mini on eBay, as it has a faster chip and uses Apple Pencil 2. Or, save my pennies during the oncoming recession
Apple in 2022. iPad 10th Gen owner will need usb-c to lightening adaptor to charge their Apple Pencil Gen 1 via iPad LoL.

That’s an absolute ball drop from Apple. This was a great opportunity to drop the Pencil 1 and get everyone to buy the Pencil 2, which surely has a higher profit margin…
They really want to hang on to lightning as long as possible. The EU are gonna have to claw it out of Apple’s cold dead hands at this rate.

I have the last iPad Air with A chip. iPad Air 4 (2021) and it’s a great device. Could be a nice compromise. When I got it I managed to get with cellular for £529 on eBay. 3 months old. I think it was returned stock. They had a lot in stock. Doubt they do now but worth taking a look.

Oh forgot they kept the 9th generation around so the Pencil 1 has to continue to exist. *Sigh*
Would it have been too much to ask for the 10th generation to entirely replace the 9th?? I have no idea why I’m so annoyed about this…
I think I know why I’m so angry. I’ve always known Apple charges outrageous prices for its products but this is the first time I’ve felt Apple have really offered poor value for money. OKAY FINE NO MORE COMMENTS FROM ME ON THIS.

Just bought an iPad Air 5th gen from Amazon. Was waiting for the new pro but not at that price. Then it got me thinking that even the old pro I’m not sure is worth the price hike over the old price of the air for how I use it. So shiny new ipad coming on Thursday. I’m interested to see what other manufacturers do with prices going forwards. Getting a little fed up of apple prices nowadays so my loyalty may end up wandering next year!
Just made my wife finally sign up for her free trials via the Barclays finance offer. Apple Arcade and TV+ just in time for my two week work trip, via Family Sharing - what a great feature 😊
Exactly the position I was in .. turned out that I couldnt care less about the ability to use the camera on the iPad but I do need a better camera for all the teams meetings I do since the pandemic so the Air will be perfect. I got a refurb M1 MacBook Air for any ‘heavy stuff’ a year or so back so just don’t need the power of the Pro at all.
The only remaining question for me is whether having 2 speakers instead of 4 will be an issue .. I won’t know until I test it out and tbh don’t watch a lot on my ipad and if i want decent sound I just pop my shiney new AirPods in!

The iPad is still one product I’ve not still bought in to. I’ve not found one scenario where I’d pick it over a MacBook or phone.
Kids love them though… but glorified robolox (sic) and YouTube screens for them.
You didn't buy an iPad... yet. How could you refuse an iPad connected to a cable connected to an adapter connected to an Apple Pencil? Like one of those pens on chains you used to see in banks...
