What model are you getting?

I’d love to upgrade but I’m in the same boat. Too many other priorities for money.

Trying to persuade my partner to cancel Sky because that’s costing £69/month and we don’t watch it (pretty much everything we watch is streamed now).

Was reading that Disney+ rises are coming soon. Looking like the Netflix model with a lower ad supported tier and then bumping the price of 4K with atoms. Also saw they’re going to clamp down on password sharing Netflix style too in 24

If they’re accurate, then it’s black or silver for me.

I usually get the ‘special’ colour each year and did so when I originally bought the 14 pro. Did then get to see the black in person in store so when I changed to the pro max I went with that. Have to admit it just goes in the case anyway!

How are the bands holding up for the silver phones this year? The shiny steel any more prone to scratches?

I read about it last week if I remember rightly, the current £7.99 tier will be 1080p now. Used to like having a few subs going at once but now we stick to 1 or 2 max a month and just sign up to different ones when needed.

The intrigue continues…

So maybe following car manufacturers of late and offering “vegan” leather alternatives maybe?

That is rubbish.

China, US and India are the top 3 polluters of the world. Apple uses all three of them to manufacture 98% of it’s products.

And Apple in recent years got heavily involved financially in India.

But yeah lets stop making real leather cases because its not environment friendly.

Horween leather is garbage. And they will charge us £50-£60 for that.

What about Hermes fan base?

I think that geeza is chatting ****.

Just noticed on Magpie there are 3 levels of phone quality - Excellent, Good and Poor, if chose Good now like I did when I first saved then it would £200 less.

Update: it was someone who is normally in the forum who has bowed out for now!

What about a network that uses EE? EE are so expensive at the moment so if it is just for signal choose an MVNO that uses them.
Hubby and daughter were using plusnet (they were using EE) - I’ve been on EE direct. There was a huge difference in access and performance even when we had the same phones! It was even more pronounced abroad!

This is another aspect people don’t realise when signing up to an MVNO.

Deprioritisation on the network is exactly what you’ve just described.

There is even a difference on the type of 5G speed you get on ee monthly plans. Some of them are capped at certain speeds.

It shouldn’t be any different in terms of service. Services maybe different but in terms of network and usage abroad should be ok.

Plusnet Mobile have shutdown now and the stragglers being shifted but I bet the prices are nowhere near as competitive as Plusnet Mobile!!!

As reported though looks like BTEE are consolidating everything in to the EE brand for residential. I have had some weird invites this week to some BTEE consumer trials regarding moving from Plusnet to EE.

Still working. Got you guys on here to thank. Getting cheaper too :D

Just buy the vinegar extension for a one off fee of £1.99

Anyone on a EE sim deal and out of contract should be ringing up see what loyalty discount you can get applied
I have got a a 20% off work perk +£5 off loyalty discount which comes to £23 a month (sim only) unlimited texts/mins/125gb data (no caps) and one add on perk (Netflix, Roaming, Xbox ultimate Game pass etc). EE have caught on to using multiple discounts and it was only be error that I was able to get both the 20% and £5 loyalty discount applied.

Definitely deals to be had on EE if you're out of contract.

Called for my PAC code with some intent to move to O2 to call EE's bluff. Their retentions team called me back later that morning and offered me the following for £9 a month:

  • 30GB data
  • Unlimited calls and SMS
  • 5G, albeit capped to 100Mbps (which has been fine for the past year I've been with them)
  • Free EU roaming
  • 12 months
With my colleague's 20% discount, that's just £7.20 a month.

Also managed to negotiate my Apple Watch data plan down to £5 after their agents told a few porkie pies.

My experience of EE has been the same as mrandyyu.

When my contract was up in May, requested a PAC via short code txt. 10 minutes later retention team called, and we worked out a something about half of what I was paying, and on a 12 month contract. The negotiated cost was much less than offered as renewal offers on MyEE.

This is a bit off topic but it has made me realise how much I take my iPhone for granted. I have been given a Samsung A54 as a company phone. ONE UI is better than it used to be but it just isn't as slick as iOS. The constant notifications every time you go into an app to recommend you things is so jarring.

I have the same but they have also added another 10% off with having BT internet
I have the older sim deal of 100gb for £20 just never upgraded due to having free roaming on the contract

I pay about £28 pm but that‘s also a AW contract and a 5gb data sim for my iPad
