I’m on the insiders program and been offered the fold 5 for half price it’s tempting but can’t see me biting, can’t see me ever moving away from apple

I know this isn't iPhone-related, but it does relate to many of us, as we're a group of Apple fanatics, owning multiple Apple devices...

Has anyone else seen what Sky are doing now in terms of 'leasing' Apple hardware? I initially overlooked it, thinking it would be stupidly priced, but it's definitely worth a look. Avoids the up-front sting, and cheaper than financing a purchase over the same periods:

Gven the fact that many of us trade in our MacBooks every 2 or 3 years, this makes a whole lot of sense!

NB - there is a 'catch' of sorts. You can't get your mitts on a MacBook without adding on an additional data service. However, not as expensive as it sounds... For example, there's a 100MB/month add-on that costs nothing for 12 months, rising to £5/month from month 13.

Definitely deals to be had on EE if you're out of contract.

Called for my PAC code with some intent to move to O2 to call EE's bluff. Their retentions team called me back later that morning and offered me the following for £9 a month:

  • 30GB data
  • Unlimited calls and SMS
  • 5G, albeit capped to 100Mbps (which has been fine for the past year I've been with them)
  • Free EU roaming
  • 12 months
With my colleague's 20% discount, that's just £7.20 a month.

Also managed to negotiate my Apple Watch data plan down to £5 after their agents told a few porkie pies.

My experience of EE has been the same as mrandyyu.

When my contract was up in May, requested a PAC via short code txt. 10 minutes later retention team called, and we worked out a something about half of what I was paying, and on a 12 month contract. The negotiated cost was much less than offered as renewal offers on MyEE.
Exactly what I did last year

I will never change my contract for that reason too. O2 sim only 20GB Unlimited unlimited for £9 a month, my contract finished last year but I just kept on it. Also amazing advantages being in VOLT (parents use the Virgin Media not my own home lol)

Is there any companies that let you share your data between devices like EE before I see if I can get any better discounts off retentions after asking for a PAC
I need a data sim and about 80 - 100gb of data on my mobile contract that I can share with to my iPad

Helpful tip for someone who is looking to negotiate prices with EE.

Two of our business lines are due for an upgrade so I requested a quote for a 50GB plan with an inclusive benefit.

Below is the reply I got. Maybe worth a try to pick and choose instead of getting a set plan.

There is also Krcs.co.uk which offers same kind thing. I used this to get the macbook pro 16 inch M1 Pro. £54 a month I pay and I can return it after 3 years and get a new one or pay for one more year.

Was reading that Disney+ rises are coming soon. Looking like the Netflix model with a lower ad supported tier and then bumping the price of 4K with atoms. Also saw they’re going to clamp down on password sharing Netflix style too in 24
There are ways around this but involves a bit of faffing around. I signed up for 12 months Disney plus last week from Turkey for around £18. Lots of threads on HDUK with steps.

Lloyds Bank this year have introduced 12 months Disney+ as a Club Lloyds benefit this year. I normally take 6 Vue tickets but the Disney+ subscription seems like a no brainer. Hoping they keep offering it then that’s free.

Those who have locked in with Music Magpie, how do you keep your current quote? My £800 runs out on Monday. How do I extend it? Thanks

I have a suspicion the price is dropping rapidly on Music Magpie due to the amount of people saving their baskets over and over. Maybe time to restrict this info!!!

Also noticed they have now introduced 3 levels of phone grading. It wouldn’t surprise for all of us who has saved over and over they will downgrade us and find fault whatever condition to lower the price.
