Sold my iPhone 14 PM yesterday on the dreaded Facebook Market Place for £850. After getting through all the scammers and managed to find a chap from Northampton came down and collected it. BT on collection, super nice guy. £70 more than MM offered, would have needed to get about £950 on eBay to get £850 outside of the 80% off selling fees.

My trusty iPhone SE is all setup, feels weird using it again, fingers crossed it'll be only used for under a month.

That’s the best thing about MM or other trade in options it’s simple. When selling privately it can sometimes turn into a bit of a headache especially for anything worth over £100.
Use to always ebay mine but now it’s to many scammers for my liking and i don’t like how PayPal mostly side with the buyer
MM is hassle free no come back once paid out

Yh I tried 1 time on Facebook marketplace but the post seemed to attract a bunch of scammers like @markhort said. I guess you just need the patience to wait for someone genuine.

For the first hour after the ad was posted it was one scammer after another, maybe 10 to 15 of them. After that the genuine buyers started filtering through.

Pretty easy to work them out, just say cash or BT on collection, then most to them will want to BT straight away, soon as they ask for an email address to confirm payment, it's 100% a scam.

Maybe I was a little lucky, that was the first time actually sold something on FBM. I've listed a few things before and got bored for all the scammers.

Sounds like me, I usually list something then get nervous about scammers and take it to cex.

Locked mine in with MM. it for some reason I chose good, not excellent. I’ve done the swap back and forth to save it.

Is there a way to upgrade it to excellent though? As of today excellent is same as what I’ve got.

Or is there a possibility of when take to MM kiosk it’s upgraded to excellent?

No way to change. It is what you locked it in as and the condition you chose for that quote.

FBMP has its good points.. used it to sell loads of stuff when we moved home a few years ago and had a clearout.. not sure I'd use it for high value items but as with any of these, give it the due care and attention then it can work out well.

Price in this tweet has to be wrong surely 😳

Just create a new order.

This is the same guy that said there would be a 15 pro max and a 15 ultra.

How the case reacts to water hadn’t crossed my mind until I read this.. might be back to a year of silicone then!

Yeah, regardless of the material used there’s no way they’ll sell many at those prices when they will A. Get dirty easily and B. Mark and be ruined after any contact with moisture.

Some case brands like Casetify are very expensive. I wonder if Apple sees this as an opportunity to charge more? It might be similar to how some Apple Watch bands are more expensive, such as the braided solo loop and the Ultra bands.

…and if this is the case (forgive the pun), I then wonder what will happen to the price of the silicone cases.

I really hope they don’t increase in price.

First time back on this thread since the end of last year, but excitement is building again!

Looking forward to USB-C, a tweaked design, new material, and periscope camera. I think this is the year I will switch to the larger size if the camera features are exclusive to it - a little worried about how it’ll feel, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. From the leaks, the new grey colour looks very nice and would make a change from my usual silver!

Yep, same here. I'd imagine it'd be hard to clean too.

If these are true then it looks like it'll be Mujjo or Andar for me this year.

Agreed! We have all been in a coffee shop and you have to wipe your leather case down after due to the coffee rings off the table 😂. Wonder if it will show stains etc

Music magpie are still saying they are awaiting my order I had locked in for £755. If I take it along does that mean they will just pay me the latest price?

Not sure what you mean, have you sent your device off?
If it is just a quote then you can resave it within 14 days for another 14 days.
