I am also thinking about going caseless if it is a titanium band. Although I still wouldn’t get AppleCare+. the higher risk makes me more careful 😅

Although I don’t use a case on my iPad Pro and that is dented and scratched. Although it seems to be indestructible. Accidentally dropping it from the top of the stairs in my house did more damage to the wall than it did the iPad.

I think Apple forces you to get it if you are financing the phone as well. this might be wrong though.
Still optional but you can pay for it monthly as part of the repayments.

For those that don’t bother with apple care, how do you insure your iPhone for theft and loss? I used to have that sort of insurance with my bank but after changing banks and no longer having it I went with AC+ instead

I don’t have any insurance for it.

You know it’s the week before the Apple event when tech ”influencers” start posting the usual “Just bought an iPhone 14 pro max” rubbish. Not sure what the point of this is but it got old after the first year of everyone doing it 🙄

So I’ve been away from this thread since page 338, so forgive me for not trawling through the latest for this.. 😅

What’s the latest (if any) on the Music Magpie offers? And at what point to lock the price in - 2 weeks from locking the price to sending it off if I’m not mistaken?

You can lock in a price now by saving your basket for 14 days and you can keep saving it when the timer runs down.

No MM offers for the 14, 10IPHONE works for the 13

Time to lock MM prices was two weeks ago unless you don’t mind taking a big hit on selling price.
Lock the price by creating an order and save the order instead of sending to the basket.

These are the rumoured “fine woven” cases. They are the replacement for the leather cases.

What I mean is, if I locked the price today (currently £640 for a 14pro) but still hadn’t sent the phone off in the 14 days they offer, so I ‘refresh’ the locked price - would it not then refresh at whatever price they value it at, at that time?

Or would they still offer me the £640 and then a further 2 weeks to send it to them?

It would stay at £640 for another 2 weeks. As long as you move it to basket then save the basket again.

The 21 days to send off starts when you complete the transaction.

Edit: You need to add it so basket and press save for later. You can then find the offer in “saved offers”. This is where you can add it back to basket and save for later again.

£640 ouch.

Can you not sell privately to a friend or family member.

End of the day it’s your decision to make but £640 for 14 Pro is a rip off.

Not forces!! It's included!

I've been locking my price in since December!!

Ah 21 days, even better!

It is 128gb, they seem to be selling for around the same if not less privately, and I wouldn’t sell to a family member for more than what MM would offer

With private no doubt Sod’s Law would happen and the phone would break a week after I sold it to somebody, for them to then demand the money back or something..

Used MM the last 3 or 4 years and always had full payment that they offered so don’t fix what isn’t broken as they say!

This is what I thought, surely if this is how it works then the best day to lock in the price is September 22nd!?

Haha. It’s would be but they don’t add them straight away. Good few months after. The 13 didn’t arrive until very late like June 22. 14 arrived December 22.

That’s the best thing about MM or other trade in options it’s simple. When selling privately it can sometimes turn into a bit of a headache especially for anything worth over £100.
