am I crazy for wanting to use this phone without a case considering I had Apple leather cases for both my 6+ and 7?

Why do so many youtube videos have the most annoying soundtrack?

Anyway, Thur evening will be interesting with so many payment issues so far, if they only attempt payment for store pickup the day before.

Maybe it’s just because I’ve just woke up, but I still don’t understand. Is there a way I can do that?
I'm a developer... it's not exactly a simple thing.

You'd need to install a proxy somewhere, and then install the proxy certs on your phone, and then know enough about HTTP to read the logs.

I have it setup from debugging my own apps.

My order showing in progress and got a window slot for Friday 9am. Does this mean I'm garaunteed to pick up in the apple store on Friday? Slightly concerend a payment has still not been taken...

I am sure you will be fine. If something was wrong either your bank or Apple would have let you know. Start a chat with Apple and I am sure they will confirm that all is good.

I have a 9am in store pick up as well. Payment was taken on Sunday for both phones and the 256GB payment had a issues which was rectified in minutes with the bank. All good now.

Mmmph any chance of the new leather cases in Apple stores today, may have a trip to Meadowhall Apple store.

I'm currently on 7+with ios 11.1 Beta, should i update 7+ to beta 11.2 or stay on 11.1 (beta 5)
I'm also waiting on series 3 watch, upgrading from series o, that watch will come before the X

i really want to set as new iphone, and not restore, but i heard if you set as new, I'll lose my health data, which i want to keep and monitor.

what should i do???

Oh fair enough, can you update this thread if they get anymore in?

When you say payment was taken, do you mean it’s a pending payment as in it shows as going to come out but not actually come out? Cos that’s the status I’m in.....Sunday night it was not authorised properly so sorted with bank, I then amended it and the payment is in the “pending transactions” part now which is good.....but still says processing items but date still says 3rd for store pickup......the case I ordered on a separate order still says processing too.

For what it's worth, last year John Lewis had 766 iPhone 7's - so they've got 27.8% more stock than last year.

That was as of the 14th last year - by the 16th (launch day) they had more, including a shipment of at 137 Jet Black 7s according to one of your old posts I think.

Interesting, where did you hear that?

My understanding is that with IOS11, health data is now stored on iCloud.

I need to keep my health data as well, so my intention is to try a new install first and check it picks it up OK. If it doesn't then I can still do the backup/restore route.

I really hope it does work OK from the cloud, as I prefer to do a clean install.

Minefield is the right word! Is there even any reason to go over and above an iPad charger? Test from 9to5Mac...

Exactly. It’s a matter of minutes we’re talking about. Most people charge their phones overnight? Even with a standard wireless charger this would be sufficient to charge your phone by the time you got up. To me the only benefit to fast charge over usb-c pd is the ‘emergency’ situation were you need a quick top up in as short time possible (i.e. before you go out boozing because you drained your battery from Instagram stalking your ex whilst sat on the loo). Even in that scenario you’ll only get a few percent more than a standard iPad charger. It’s not cheap either (going down the official Apple product route) £25 for a 1m usb-c to lightning cable and £49 for a usb-c power adapter (29w).

I’m ok though as I have the charger and cable from my MacBook so I can instastal... erm fast charge with piece of mind

I've just searched 'Apple Store' in my gmail and found my receipts for iPhones 4 / 5 / 6 / 7+

iPhone 5 32GB was £599 in September 2012, so it's doubled in 5-years ...

Interesting, where did you hear that?
Based off the order numbers those who are due to get their device on Friday are all under the 000430 mark while those over are still awaiting confirmation and EE have said the next patch of stock is coming on Friday so all the current stock seems to of been allocated

For all those who are doing store pickups and had payments delayed on Sunday night and are still saying processing items, I just had this chat with Apple online:

Me: Reason I’m querying it was cos Sunday night I saw the status changed to payment declined or something so I had to sort my bank out to let the transaction go through

Edel:
I understand. I can see it was declined once but then was authorised on the exact same day. Apple Princesshay will have your iPhone ready for you on Friday.

Edel:
So not to worry.

FYI it looks like @RazorD is correct

I thought about this too, and you're right - buying a separate Apple USB-C mains charger isn't good value for an at best incremental improvement.

I've got a USB-C MacBook Pro with charger from work so I might buy a USB-C to Lightning cable to keep in my laptop bag & save taking two chargers on overnight trips, but I'm sticking with the £10 Anker two-port jobs otherwise.
