'Processing> Dispatched: Ships by October 14th' message.

Consider yourself lucky! I ordered within minutes of the store opening and still on "Processing> Dispatched: Ships by October 14th"

Even though the status did change on Monday from "Processing Items Ships: Ships by October 14th"

Just off phone with Apple online customer service.

She was very clear that the phone will not ship until tomorrow, when i will receive tracking details with the carrier. Expect receipt in the middle of next week.

Dissapointing.

I am in the UK, and ordered 32Gb Black at store opening.

I would take that with a pinch of salt. Don't give up unless you have no confirmation by tonight!

Some good news at last!!!:)

Forza Motorsport 4 just turned up on my desk at work!!!! :D

Still preparing for shipment on my iPhones though.:p

I kinda burnt myself out on Forza Motorsport 3. It was a big enough jump from the second game that it felt fresh when I first started playing it, but eventually turned kinda monotonous. Forza Motorsport 4 doesn't appear to have changed enough, unfortunately. For me, at least, it'll be "more of the same".

apples customer service knows as much as us.

they said no phones would ship until tomorrow, but they have shipped today

Appreciate that, just sharing my experience. Mine has only just changed to preparing for shipment. So expecting late tonight / early tomorrow despatch so know i wont get it tomorrow. Added to my woe is that i live in "the sticks" so 24 delivery method is rare for my location. Ho Hum...

This is ridiculous, you pay this much money for a product you expect very prompt delivery. When I wanted a 3GS I walked into a carphone warehouse a day or two after release and bought one, but for pre-ordering within minutes of the Apple's own store opening, I will be waiting maybe 4-6 days?

Kinect integration for head tracking, better tyre simluation and dynamics, twice the polygons on the cars, better lighting system, career mode plays the way you want even more so than FM3, autovista looks cool, more tracks, more more more!! Can you tell i cant wait to play? :)

Appreciate the sympathy but due to my location in the sticks, unless it shipped this morning, highly unlikely i will get it tomorrow. 24hr delivery is rare to where i live in Scotland, even RMSD from Royal Mail sometimes fails. If i ship something it will go no further south than Birmingham. Where in the UK they shipping from???

Hope it all works out for the rest of you!

I think i am fully expecting a Monday/Tuesday delivery to be honest. It doesnt bother me in the slightest really, as long as i am still going to get it without waiting all morning outside a store, and as long as its not weeks away.

Agreed. Every other launch day i bought in o2 store just by walking in at opening time, no queue nothing!

You'd think they'd ship it out the preorders a day early just to ensure everyone got theirs on time and it would be a small 'thank you' for letting Apple hold onto your £500-700 hard earned cash for a week prior to release date.

I have been on 'preparing for shipment' since 5PM last night.

one of the first to change to preparing to shipment but mine has yet to ship and other have, bit annoying.

On the converse, mine was prepared for shipment at 2am, one of the last. But then it shipped around 3:30am, only an hour or so after the first lot were reported

It could easily be some inaccuracies on the tracking system.

A foolproof way to see if it's been shipped and apples tracking system is just slow.

Check your bank! Have funds been taken out yet?

Just got off the phone to Three. They said its been delayed until the 18th so wont get it until Tuesday :(

Ordered the 32gb White at 11am on the 7th
Hmmmm thats not good- I ordered a 64gb black around 12:30pm last Friday- as soon as the page went live (I'd been following the updates on Twitter and refreshing the page a lot.)

Had to phone up to give my credit card details again- as my bank blocked them when entered online. I was told at that point the phone would be dispatched today for delivery tomorrow by Royal Mail. Phoned a couple of days ago to check and was told the same.

I'll give them a call later to check whats going on. If it doesn't get delivered tomorrow I won't be happy! Delivery on Tuesday would mean an hour round trip walk to the sorting office. The last time I asked them to send a package to the local post office it took them three days longer than it should have, I'm not trusting them to ever get my iPhone 4s there!

10:45? i ordered straight away and received my confirmation email at 09:19... order is still "preparing for shipment"..

Yep 10:45am

Set my alarm from 7:45am, but of course me being a deep sleeper it didn't wake me up. When i naturally woke up at 10:30am i shot out of bed quicker than a bullet from a rifle :p

Tried to order for 14mins off the apple store but gave up, and preordered off the Apple Store App for iPhone.

It doesn't work this way always. iPhone 4 money was taken 3 days after I got my phone. my MBP money was also taken like 2 days after I received the laptop.. so its not a real indicator!

Calm down guys.

Think of it as a stack paper. The bottom of the pile was also the start of the pile. The last to be added are the first to be taken off...

Just went into the Vodafone shop where I preordered my iPhone to ask when I can pick it up and the guy said they were expecting them to be delivered at 7am, and then asked when I wanted to come in to get it all set up. Seems people are being allocated slots so I'd recommend going in today to make sure you can get it early.

He also let slip that they had 38 coming in tomorrow to fulfil preorders.

They don't charge your CC until the order ships so they haven't had your cash for a week.

Have some patience.

Ha, it's not a stack of paper though is it? It's a list of orders in a database. They can be processed in any order you like, and the way to keep people happy would be first come, first served.

Seems a bit silly, Whats stopping you from transferring the funds to a different bank account, or simply closing that account after you receive your order?
