UK iPhone 4S thread.

I am still waiting for my 32GB white to change from Preparing to Ship. This is to a London address, ordered around 9:30am.
I put the delays down to the speed your CC company gave approval and the order server you hit.
Mine has changed to preparing for shipment!!! OMG! 64gb white.

Thanks for this NATO, went onto the Syncreon website and the current location for the package is HINCKLEY GB. so you're right.
They must send invoices from Cork, and dispatch from Hinckley.
Go on the website, when it says order number enter the 'Tracking Number' that you can find on Apples Shipment Status page. When the other box appears for the other number, enter the 'Additional Order Number'
Then click the button and hope. The website keeps crashing, you only get through about 10% of the time.
It's actually quite ironic that after last year's iPhone 4 release, and me spending 4 hours in the queue at my local Apple store to get one, I vowed I wouldn't be wasting another 4 hours of my life doing that this year....
....However, after having got up at 7am to pre-order, and now having spent about 6 hours in front of my PC, checking, reading posts, refreshing Apple.com, and now not knowing if it will be Friday or Monday.....

It's actually quite ironic that after last year's iPhone 4 release, and me spending 4 hours in the queue at my local Apple store to get one, I vowed I wouldn't be wasting another 4 hours of my life doing that this year....

True, but i'd much rather sit at my PC, in my warm home, with food and drink on tap and something to do when bored, than sit outside the o2 store like i did last year.
Though it was alright actually, turned up the o2 store in a market town nearbye (Figured it would be quieter than the Apple store in the city), only arrived at 7am to find myself about 8th in the queue. About 90minutes later i walked out with my Ip4. Easy as pie.

Yeah, Apple's operations are nothing short of mind boggling. Invoices from Cork, shipments from various UK sites (or China), seemingly no logical order to how orders are processed/despatched, orders delivered by one of many couriers. You'd need a medal to figure it all out from our end!
It's always been this way though, it really should be called the 'Apple Pre-order Lottery'.

I've had dealings with Syncreon, and it is a freight logistics company, not a courier - they deliver to companies, not to people's homes. In other words, *their* final point of delivery is not your house, but a TNT/UPS hub. That doesn't mean that they won't have the phones with the couriers today for delivery tomorrow, but it does mean that the delivery date on its website is not final delivery, but only delivery to the next step in the chain.
Just FYI.
mine still says processing.. preordered 16gb white with bumper at 8:45am on the 7th.
if i dont get it tomorrow ill have to wait till monday is that right? no saturday deliveries? that seems kinda unfair

I guess I won't be getting mine tomorrow.
I ordered Saturday first thing, just rang up Vodafone now and the guy on the phone told me that my credit check was approved but then it wasn't added to the system to move on to the next step so my order has just been sitting in limbo.
I'm so damn angry. I now won't get one tomorrow, I need an iPhone 4S for my dissertation.
The guy wouldn't even give me a straight answer, he told me what had happened and I said to him 'Fine, cancel it then because I need it tomorrow' as soon as I said that he just gave me some BS about it being fine and i'll 'still get it tomorrow'.

Nope. Still preparing for shipping here. Ordered within minutes of the store going up on the 7th.

i got the same iPhone (white 64gb) mine has also shipped. but mine says delivery on or before 14th Oct!
Ordered mine at 8.45am on the 7th and got my confirmation at exactly 9.20am! LOL

Just off phone with Apple online customer service.
She was very clear that the phone will not ship until tomorrow, when i will receive tracking details with the carrier. Expect receipt in the middle of next week.

they said no phones would ship until tomorrow, but they have shipped today

I have had exactly the same email for my order. When I check the tracking numbe on Yodel's website it says "no details available". I can only assume that although they have created the parcel number with Yodel it is still sitting on the carphone warehouse (see what I did there?) waiting to be collected by the courier. We'll see if the status changes later on.
