Do wonder if Apple have committed x % of stock in the stores to each carrier hence the SIM free OOS but not the contract.

Does anyone know when the average joe will be able to get a sim free in store without refreshing a freaking page every night at 9pm? This contract only priority is really peeing me off.

As I said, I bought mine in the Covent Garden Apple Store about 13.30 today. Was odd though, the clerk sort of took me to one side and spoke in hushed tones. Can't imagine he was doing something he wasn't supposed to, but with the PAYG Three SIM I walked out with an unlocked iPhone 4S 32GB Black.

My delivery date is still 24th - 31st, was kind of hoping it to be moved forward by now to guarantee delivery next week.

Well, i got a32gb black payg from the 3 shop in the metrocentre without any problem so clearly each shop has their own rules. I dealt with a very nice chap called stephen and he said he will sell to anybody as he gets commission regardless!
I was told that unlocking would be no problem, I guess it depends who you speak to.
