UK iPhone 4S thread.

pisstake innit thought id wake up to a pirate shipped but no got em preparing for bloody ages, i take it they aint got oompa loompas packing otherwise it would be on its way now!!
Yay I finally have one! I got it from the Apple store in Cambridge; after O2 lied and told me that if I wanted to early upgrade the only way I could do it was in an O2 store, that there was no way to do it in an Apple store!
So after repeatedly checking the O2 iPhone stock checker, my dad saw that the Cambridge O2 store had some!! (yippee) I live in Peterborough (one O2 store and no Apple store) so we left super early yesterday to get to Cambridge (45miles away) to make sure we were there for when the shop opened.
We arrived an hour before the shop opened... and waited (along with other people) to get our hands on our new iPhones!
2mins before the shop was due to open a member of staff from the O2 store walked past and said that the stock checker is incorrect that they have none at all in stock and that they might get some this week but she wasn't sure!
I left my name and number with a member of staff at O2 in case by some miracle they got some in that morning.
So to cheer myself up I decided to stroll over to the Apple store in Cambridge and I got talking to one of the Apple staff and told him what had happened.
He then preceded to tell me that they have plenty of stock and that I can upgrade in store that O2 are lying to customers because they want the sale of the handset!!
So after bouncing off the walls for 5minutes- he went and got an iPad and we started the adoption process for my new baby!!! ...and here she is...
The apple guy also said after i mentioned that i looked at 9pm online at reserving a phone from the Cambridge apple store and there was none, that he doesn't really understand the reservation thing at 9pm and that he knows most stores (around Cambridge at least) have a lot of stock and the best thing to do is to walk in and check and not to believe a thing the phone network providers tell you!!!

its been around 14 hours its stuck at preparing for shipment! any idea whwhen it will be shipped?? i mean how long does it take to prepare for shipment!! its just a fone not a car:/

Mine turned preparing for shipment at around 6pm yesterday. And i checked before i slept it was still like that. I woke up and it was shipped. It can happen anytime dont be desperate you are gonna get it either monday or tuesday. That's certain. So you might as well enjoy your weekend

Tried out Siri for the first time last night. With my Scottish accent, I class Siri as 50% Genius / 50% Muppet!
Some things are spot on but I tried five times for it to recognise which of my Girlfriend's email addresses to use and finally gave up.
Voice dictation was about 80% accurate for a first attempt so quite encouraging and hoping that improves. Simple commands like 'Remind me tomorrow at 9am to check mail' worked flawlessly with the reminder being set with a title of 'Check mail'.
Will give it a more thorough testing this weekend.
Anyone else have any accent woes?
