UK iPhone 5 thread

Mines no longer at Birmingham and has arrived in Guildford (25 miles away from where I live) which is it's final destination before delivery tomorrow.

Not sure why there isn't a nearer UK Mail depot. 25 miles seems a long way out for a delivery.

Anyone know if UK Mail gives and estimated delivery time/hour once it's out for delivery?

Yes as in UKMail collected it and is possibly moving it , but they have NOT reached Newcastle yet as if they had they would have "scanned" it, the D is more then likley for Destination, as that is the depot they are heading to to drop it off.

Actually I just noticed I am blind, it even SAYS Destination above it!

I paid a £25 deposit at my local Orange store in Edinburgh last Friday to reserve a black 64gb but have no idea if I'll actually get one tomorrow...... Am hoping they have had the sense to distribute phones according to or with some reference to these reservations. All I see when I search is that they are using the stock 'within 30 days' response. Already done deal to recycle my 4s and need to send that off relatively soon but got a week at least I think.

Am switching from O2 so no experience of 'ordering' this way. I do like that on O2 you can check store stocks - I wish Orange offered that!

Last year I queued at the O2 store and was first in queue :eek: but by time shop opened there were about 30 odd folk behind me.

I was told by a friend who also ordered through apple that when he called UK Mail , they said they had not updated the main page & Tracking info and that most of the packages had gone out to the local depots this afternoon to be dropped off. They had been collected and were enroute to their destination. Chances are they are already there by now

I'm in same situation, I think it's just not gonna happen :( I really hope orange are ready in the morning as there lines will be overloaded with calls from LOYAL customers!
 
Mine's still sat in Tamworth, almost concerning considering i'm waiting for a delivery in Guildford tomorrow and someone else's phone has already made it to the royal mail office here! :p

ditto I was done and dusted just before 11am friday and Orange confirmed I was in the first batch of handsets just a guessing game whilst all these new customers are getting their devices tracked and delivered lol

I called the sales number - 0800 358 1799, and said "my friends have all gotten tracking numbers and I am concerned. I haven't received an email or anything...could you please just check my account and put my mind at ease, and see if there is a tracking number assigned to my order?" That worked!

I've just checked my tracking by both online and SMS ... it says it's in Castle Donnington ... not sure if that means it's on it's way but it still says 24th ... rather disappointed ...

I think it's possible they could come tomorrow but I'll be so disappointed in whoever it is, Apple or UPS, if us here don't get ours tomorrow for some strange reason ....

My first iPhone, been loving the experience, seeing the date come up as release date etc and then hit with that change earlier today :(

Ah well, guess I can only sit back and wait :(
 
Is it worrying that on Syncreon it still says its in Hinckley and has done since 11am? Nothing else. How will I know what courier is actually delivering it? Ugh, sometimes ignorance is bliss!
I ordered direct through the Apple Store

when the iPhone 4 came out 2 years ago i went to my local O2 store and queued to upgrade as my contract was due for renewal.
i got there at 6am and was 48th in the queue.
i believe we queued until 8am or 8:30 but the nice people in the O2 shop came down the line at 7:00 with a basket of pastries and cartons of apple juice.

Yeah that's what I find frustrating... I have had this account with Orange for 15 years now. If it wasn't for 4G EE and the fact that we get rubbish signal with all other operators at our house I'd switch.

Haha I know. I don't even mind waiting a little longer, would just be nice to have an update on the situation!
