UK iPhone 5 thread

So what do you guys think? I'm in central London, should I wait outside a Carphone Warehouse store for when it opens at 9 or cue up with the crowds at Apple Regent Street?

I went into Carphone Warehouse yesterday and they said they were getting them in... but not sure if I trust their word... advice appreciated!
 
Hey everyone, just wondering: if you queue at a retail store to get an iPhone 5, is it possible to get one with a contract or will they only sell SIM-only phones at the beginning?

(PS: I will be switching from O2 to T-Mobile and want to keep my number. Already got the PAC.)

both. we had an ex-retail guy on here earlier saying the same thing.
 
It seemed so far away yet here we are.

The flight normal arrives in Belfast in he early hours. Hopefully then straight into van for delivery.

You want my advice? Get your ass out to somewhere like Essex or Kent - less queues!

tricky. Regents street will have more stock and more personnel to process the queue, i really think it's at least a 15min/ person job but the queues are already building up.

Apple can set you up on a new contract and also use the PAC that you have.

(I used to work at Regent Street Apple Store)

Did you get the one 'email' just from three though saying you will get on the 21st?

blimey, I really don't know about that, you can always take out a new T-mob contact (can i suggest the Full Monty 31, reduced to £21), and then port your number later.
 
Seriously guys, UKmail and UPS deliver my heels (ROFL true story), this happens all the time! It'll have changed by morning, it's often slow on the uptake

Yeh , this ^. So many of us have upgraded as early as possible with Orange and received poor treatment. I just hope at least a few of us get a phone tomorrow along with the new customers.
 
Based on previous launches, do you think it's worth it to start queuing up around 1-2pm or will it already be hopeless for the day by then? :p
