Nope I don't think you can put it in upside down, I have tried it also in my iPhone 4 with the nano sim adaptor and it also doesn't work just says no service. I went here to see if I could activate it or something:
t-mobile.co.uk/newsim

But it said my number was incorrect...

Have you recently used a PAC Code to transfer your number? You will get no service for up to a few hours while they process that. Try Turning your phone off and on again.

Well my black 32GB just arrived so far great impression until..... out of the wrapping I notice there is a small chip in the black finish on the outer band on the back :(

Tells me already wish I had gone white, any chip or scratch on this thing is going to be totally noticeable.

Now, do I call apple or just ignore it for the fact that even if I had no dinks out of the box it would probably end up with some soon anyway.

Apart from that disappointment loving the phone so far.

There seems to be chips on both the white and black iPhones. I think it must have happened at the factories - sum kind of balls up.

I live about 8 miles from the UKmail Edinburgh depot. Mine has been out since 7:08am.. Still waiting!

Same with me, jpitcairn... Delivery to George St, Edinurgh. For all I know, it could be sitting downstairs in the mail room where I work!

After being on hold for 30 minutes I finally got through to someone at Orange who stated that when I ordered the phone it stated that it would take up to 30 days for delivery. When I questioned that my order has been saying that it is getting prepared for dispatch he got aggressive and told me my expectations were too high. Probably one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced. He was so argumentative it was unreal. He even said I would not even be happy if they got the phone to me in the next ten minutes which is utter BS. I would be more than happy. Cancelled the order and will now shop around. Way to go Orange...great way to treat new customers.

I did get a look at the delivery list i had to sign I was one of the first but there was loads of CR post codes on the paper and there were two delivery guys so I am sure they have a lot of Iphones to do today.

This was for the direct apple orders UKMAIL. Arrives in a brown box with brown tape.

Mine's coming from Dartford but I'm in Kent. Anyone around Gravesend seen any UPS vans yet ?
I live in Gravesend and am waiting for my iPhone 5 from UPS too! I think Gravesend will be late this afternoon as I guess the driver will go furthest away then work his way back to Dartford...

Is anyone else getting shown this?

They just called me back and said they have 40,000 to get out and they reckon it'll take about 3 days to deliver them all, so it's pot luck what order they come in, no matter when you ordered. I don't hold up much hope for today being as my status has never changed, no tracking number etc.

Birmingham!

Anyone in Birmingham received UK MAIL delivery?

I'm in outskirts not centre!
