UK iPhone 5 thread

Orange Activation

I joined Orange and received my iPhone this morning. I was told by Orange that I may have to wait 24 hours for my phone to activate. Until then, I'm unable to make outgoing calls. Anyone else started a new contract with Orange where the phone has activated yet??

Yep, i was typing in a rush, what i meant to say was that if you're getting Syncreon then it's most likely being delivered by UK Mail.

Can someone that has had their phone delivered tell me what the UKMail site says now? I'm not home and hoping they leave it with a neighbour if no one is in, i left a note.

6PM!? I leave the office at 5.30pm.. UPS website does say 'before close of business for commercial addresses' if not.. looks like i'll be doing overtime tonight!
 
Status updated to Preparing for Shipment

I was going to join the line for a new iPhone 5 today, as the one I pre-ordered isn't due to arrive until 1st October. But then this morning the status of my order changed to 'preparing for shipment' and I am no longer able to cancel the order… so I can't line up and get one today - gutted. Strange thing is that the estimated delivery date hasn't been changed; thats still 1st Oct.

I really hope Apple haven't just changed peoples order status just to dissuade them from lining up in store then cancelling their order, that would be a mean thing to do to us fan-boys! I'll be SOOOOO ANNOYED if the status stays on 'preparing for shipment' for a week until they finally dispatch it :((

I;ve had mine delivered via UK mail. It says "Onto delivery van scan (UK Mail)"
 
Yay! UK Mail just delivered mine!!!

I knew the delivery drivers name and greeted him at the door, I said "hello Marcelo" the look on his face was Priceless .

I invited him in so he could see for himself that the tracking page lists his name as the person delivering the iPhone.

It was packaged so nicely! I now have my nano sim ready to go. Cannot believe the time this was delivered! after Midday!

I remember having to wait down by our loading bay at like 6pm for the 4S.
 
This week we've had O2 show themselves to be very lacking in communicating between departments.

Today it seems UPS aren't too far behind. One minute we're told that despite the tracking information showing that the phones were in Northern Ireland they actually weren't and also that they were at the airport and weren't to be touched before Monday. Despite this, my package was delivered to work at 10:05am!!

Because of this, I feel obliged to update my earlier post just because I'm over the moon at the minute.

I haven't powered it up yet but boy is it trim.
 
i am thinking as the depot is in northampton we will be the last ones of the day!!!!!!!
i am on grange park if i get them delivered i will post on here so northampton knows when they are around it says on the uk mail website it was loaded at 6.07 this morning
