When it says "Preparing for Shipment" it means it's left the factory in China, right?

The official delivery date is Oct 1st but I'm wondering if it could be faster since it switched to Preparing instead of processing this morning.

Well I've got mine up and running from T-Mobile and I've installed a screen protector and bought a Cygnet case to try and keep it scratch free :) but I keep having a problem with my network selection, I have turned off auto select and selected "T-Mobile" so I get 3G coverage but the phone insists on changing back to "T-Mobile-Orange" which means no 3G coverage...... Very frustrating!!

Does anyone know how to fix this??

Does yours specifically say 1st Oct? mine has a range of 2-8 Oct

EDIT: Mine's still processing btw :(

Received mine about 20 minutes ago. Cambridge area, UK Mail.

No marks on my black 32gb, but still phoning apple for an exchange to a white one as i know the black will end up getting scuffed easily and i'll go insane, lol.

What a nightmare my day has been!

Preordered in store at Phones4U simply because it was one transaction to get the iPhone 5 while cashing in on my 3GS. Turned up at 11am thinking I had one set aside, Phones4U's warehouse isn't delivering Orange/T-Mobile handsets to stores! Was told a delivery would be arriving at 2pm so come back then. Show up later to be told the delivery hasn't turned up and that I can either arrange for one shipped directly to be delivered in 3-5 working days or to wait for a phone call and just turn up when they arrive.

Don't know who to be angry at, Phones4U or Orange/T-Mobile...who thought not going stores was a good idea‽

Turning off roaming may fix it.

But would you not have to return the black first? Or do they send a replacement before you send the black back?

I think I will just wait and see, if the black does get lots and lots complaints then they may just replace it with a 'updated' model later on.

orange, maps and glue

Still nothing from orange despite upgrade at 9am last friday. No email, no text, no order number, just £210 taken from my bank. Every excuse under the sun from customer service - site crashed, phone not ordered, oh maybe it 'was ordered on wednesday' or 'processed and ordered this morning'. Also had 'no orange customer will receive their's today as we only got them from apple today' etc. Guess you've heard them all.

I shall console myself with the memories of the yellow glue all over the inside of my 4 - because they sent them out too quickly!?

Maybe the delivery drivers for the lucky few are using apple maps? This is worth a giggle http://theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/

Yes, specifically 1st Oct. I ordered when it said it would ship in "2 weeks" you must have ordered when it said "2-3 weeks".

Not sure, i spoke to someone from Apple earlier and that is the one question i didn't ask. He said i could use the phone and if i didn't like it i can exchange it within 14 days for a white model free of charge. Taking about 3-5 working days for them to pick up the black one. Whether they drop the white one off at the same time, i don't know. But either way i'm exchanging just from what i've seen on here.

same, i loth to call up today, but guessing that they are busy today that's why its taking longer to remove bar. back when i worked for them it was common if there was a new product with high demand on it

Ah, awesome...

I still need to get my PAC from O2, couldn't get through to them earlier though. High demand etc. etc. etc. Will phone up Orange once I've got that though, really can't be bothered to make 2 phone calls to them. :p

UKMail Croydon Area? Any updates.

UKMail suggest up to 8pm delivery. no guarantees for delivery to business addresses before Close of business and if no delivery it will be delivered Monday.... They will retry Saturday even if business is not open..

Damn, tbh I'm incredibly lucky I could get a load from the bank of mum and dad because if I's have waited to be paid who knows how long it'd be before I got it!

Still, if it hasn't gone to preparing for shipment tomorrow I'll be attempting the apple store.

Update from Linlithgow, West Lothian.

Caved in and called the UK Mail Livingston depot (whose number I already had after a failed iMac delivery a few months ago) and they were surprised I hadn't received already as they thought the driver would do Linlithgow first!

They are going to track him down and give me a call back...

Im the only one whos iPhone will be shipping from syncreon ? Tracking it and it says:

20th september HINCLEY GB SHIPMENT PICKUP, NORMAL STATUS

Just received my Black 16gb iPhone 5 with UK Mail! :D

Bristol BS1

The guy looked tired. My boyf's turned up with DPD just before and that delivery guy said he had over 700 to do today!

No scuffs, absolutely gorgeous, incredibly light. :):):)

Mine has arrived at home, only trouble is I'm still at work! :D

I'm a little worried about how apparently easily the black one is to mark and the finish to chip off though...

Hopefully it's only a minority issue, otherwise I'll be exchanging for a white one too..

Ah ok, in that case I believe they will send out a replacement once they have received the black one back. At least that's what they done for me with a iPad. Still waiting for my black one to arrive with UPS.

I'm the same, nothing yet in CR8.

Mine was delivered just after 2.30, no nano sim in the post from Vodafone so had to go and get one.

Switch over was no problem, just waiting for it to activate now.

Impressed with the feel and finish of the phone itself. Definitely a big step from my iPhone 4.
