Another question for the Three users :).

Yesterday I acquired my new nano-sim which was activated after 15 min. After the activation I called 333 and requested to transfer my old number to my new simcard (both three numbers).

The guy at the phone told me it could take up to 48 hours and when I came home from work today I noticed that my old iPhone 4 lost reception so I booted up my iPhone 5. Sim was working but it's still the new number (and not my old one). Is this normal? How long can the actual transfer take? It's a bit frustrating because I'm expecting a few calls.

Thanks for your help!

For anyone who's still trying to reserve, dont bother rushing to do it at 9am. I was in the Apple store today finally getting my phone on contract (gave up after 2 days of trying to reserve) and mentioned it and was told that the stock is randomly allocated so basically doesn't matter if you do the reservation at 9:01 am or 4:59pm, same chance. Makes sense so that people don't all rush for 9am (which some inc myself still did) but annoying too as could take forever to get your phone.

Well I've just been on the phone, to confirm order numbers and get a tracking number!

I should be excited right, but for some reason I'm not, the tracking number shows last years consignment, now yodel say its because they recycle numbers, but if I've been given a number I should get my delivery as scheduled.

I'm just worried I'm getting fobbed off again :(

Hey guys, I ordered a white iPhone 5 16GB from T-mobile on a 24 month contract. They said they would first complete a credit check and send me an email to let me know when it's on its way.

I've got an email saying it's on the way and it'll take up to 30 days.

First of all, can I ask when should I be reasonably expecting my iPhone? My birthday is in two weeks!

Secondly, how do I track this thing guys? In the email all I have is an order reference number, but no clue where to use it or anything.

Cheers.

Have you turned the old phone off then back on again?

Hey all just wandering, do apple stores in the UK have limited stock everyday, sold as first come first serve? If not then does anyone know when they will be in good supply again? Hoping not too long....
Preffrably the apple store in Brighton.

This is exactly what happened with mine - it took about 6 hours for it to transfer my old number after the nano sim was activated. So, all fine in the end but a little stressful to start with especially as I had calls to wait for!

Well tracking info updated, shows it needs to be collected from 'warehouse'

I don't think it's coming tomorrow :( should have been collected or at least updated by now

My iPhone 5 turned up today from T Mobile but I've been in London all day and not going home till tomorrow night. Cant wait to get home and see it.

Am hoping to get either a white 16 or 32gb on 24 months contract. From what I've read here, there are no shops in the UK with ready stock of iphone 5 now. Is this correct? Is the waiting period really 30 days? I'm in Liverpool.

Which telco is recommended? Am leaning towards t-mobile's full Monty. Will appreciate opinions. Thank you!

Don't go with t mobile. Go with Three.

Reading all these posts makes me feel rather lucky.
I reserved a white iphone 5 16gb at the Eldon Square shop in Newcastle last sunday afternoon.
I got an e mail about 7pm that evening saying to pick up on monday between 10 - 7pm.
This was for a sim free as i am already on Three

Think i have just been very lucky but the whole thing was really easy.
Hope the rest get theres soon

You were very lucky! Today will be my 4th attempt at the same store (and Metrocentre as a backup). It might not happen at all as I just tried the website and got this message:

Request an iPhone reservation.
We’re sorry, but due to limited availability, we are not accepting iPhone reservations at this time. Please try again later.

Is that the out of hours message?

Nope, I'm getting that too. Out of hours was "you can reserve between 9am - 5pm"
*sigh*

Seems like reservations have been suspended. Still getting the message. I really thought Apple had got their supply chain sorted after the success of the iPad 3 launch.

Apple is arranging a return on my black, sim-free 16GB iPhone 5. Only used it a couple of times so it is absolutely mint - no scuffs, scratches or any other defects. I received my 32GB white iPhone yesterday.

Getting the courier to arrange pick-up so in the meantime I'm happy to let it go to someone who's desperate to get their hands on one - for what I paid for it.

I'm in Market Harborough, Leics.

Sorry if this breaches any forum guidelines, just thought it might do someone a favour given how difficult they are to get hold of. I'm not out to make a profit.

BTW, the phone is at work, packed up and I will not be able to access it until Monday since I am a teacher and work in a school.

I ordered one online 1 week ago, but I don't even have an estimated delivery date.

I just wonder whether the alleged faulty batch has meant that not only have Sharp's screen problems reduced supply but those they do have are being depleted by withdrawn stock/replacements.

I think it annoys a lot of people that CarPhoneWarehouse continue to call them sim free, and charge the same price as Apple do for a genuine sim free handset, when they are NOT sim free, CPW sell locked stock, it just do happens the way Apple handle it is to allow CPW to maintain one stocked item that they then lock to the network of choice.

A locked phone is not worth as much as a proper sim free unlocked phone, the price should reflect this.

They also shouldn't be allowed to falsely advertise as sim free when it is anything but.

I agree they should make it more clearly on their website. However, I was told this in the shop by the staff when I asked for a sim free iphone, so I can't really complain.

I did walk to a local Vodafone shop after to find out if they will charge to unlock the iphone later on, and since they don't charge for contract customers (inc sim free contract), I went back to CPW and brought one of their "sim free" iphone.

If you really want a proper sim free iphone, you choices are to wait 4 to 5 weeks with Apple online order or keep trying their in store lottery reservation service every day.

Compared to what people are asking for unlocked iphone 5 on eBay, CPW price is fine with me.
