I think they must be random, I've been placing reservation requests at five stores within 90 seconds or so of the page opening for four days with no luck either. I can't believe none of those requests have been within the number they had to allocate unless it is literally a handful of phones available.
I agree, I did mine for the two biggest london store, yesterday and today literally within a few secs of it going live at 9am and no emails. :( Yet I saw an earlier post of someone who placed an order at 11am and got one. I wonder if all reservations between 9-5 are then randomly selected? Kind of makes sense. If it was first come first served online too then surely it would be unlikely someone at 11am would get a phone. Also, by opening it up to 9-5 it avoids (for apple) the site melt down at 9pm in the evening that they had with the iPad.

Hi, looking for some help from any online Three customers:

I just tried to order an iPhone5 on contract with them (via their website), and my credit check did not get accepted straight away - nor did it get rejected - got an email saying 'Thanks for your order with us. Before we can send your order we need to confirm a few details with you'.

Apparently they're going to call me within 48 hours.

Can anyone tell me what they were asked, or what all this is about? I know they just want to 'check some details', but that sounds rather ominous to me.

I already have a Three mobile broadband account (contract) and even a Three PAYG sim & USB dongle for when i use that all up - i live rurally and there's no landline so it's my main net connection. Luckily, it's super fast where i am, but the damn MiFi broadband is capped at 15gb....

I also already have an iPhone 4 on contract with O2, but their coverage sucks around here (just 'the dot').

So, i really want a Three iPhone 5, plus the tethering option! I don't think there should be a big issue with my credit or anything. But their Indian call centres are an absolute nightmare to deal with - i have way too much experience....

If anyone was in a similar situation, please let me know what happened!

Cheers

Eddie

I agree with thinking there random. I did two on Tuesday at around 2pm for Manchester Arndale and the Trafford Centre and received reservations for both for the next day. Tried again today for Manchester Arndale but no luck :(.

Ordered my iPhone 5 over the phone via Carphone Warehouse on Tuesday 25th and received it today (Thursday) - 2 days! I was shocked when it showed up at my door after I finished work. It may have arrived late in the day but was great compared to what I was told (1-2 weeks) :D

I must be rather lucky as I have read what other people are experiencing. It just goes to show if you are willing to wait, it will come sooner due to stock getting delivered etc. My advice is to order over the phone or online because I was reserving just like most people are and had no luck, that's why I ordered mine over the phone.

Didn't ask me for any extra info, so sounds strange.

Tethering is only available on the one-plan, all others charge you quite a bit.

If you ordered online, did you get cashback, topcashback are currently ordering £101 cashback for three orders, I did this and it tracked within about an hour, worth doing and legit, check it out (quidco offers £95 I think)

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, it's strange, but a few people earlier in the thread said they had the same thing, but didn't say what Three wanted when they called. The email i just got said:

Hello XXX

Your order reference number is XXXXXX.

Thanks for your recent order with us. Before we can send your order we need to confirm a few details with you.

We'll be calling you soon, on the number you've already provided, to confirm a few details.

If you have any questions about your order, please call us on 0844 338 0330 (5p/min from a BT landline, other networks may vary).

Thanks
The Three team.

I ordered online, but it didn't 'complete', so i didn't actually 'pay' the £89 upfront yet. I didn't know about topcashback - i'll be sure to check it out!

I was going to go for the £37 a month tariff - unlimited data, 500mins, 5000 texts. An extra £5 for tethering so £42 a month. But i just checked and you're right - if i get the ONE plan i actually get tethering included for £39 a month, as well as more text minutes! Thanks!! I'll change it when they call me.

I'll check out top cash back now!

TopCashBack: Please note that iPhone 5 sales are not currently eligible for Cashback.:(

Delivered

Latest update shows "At Delivery Location"......which is interesting.....I've looked down the drive and its not sitting there........that was at 0603hrs - presumably when the driver picked up his load ?

This is going to be a bloody nightmare - the wife will be out taking our boy to school and walking the dog and then the delivery driver will turn up.......if they'd texted we might have SOME idea !

Delivered this evening at 1710hrs...

Had vodafone 16gb black with iffy screen
Went to apple who swapped it for me

Dave

Thats good news then as at least it means that I can go directly to Apple if anything goes wrong. The reason I said what I did with regards to sending a faulty phone back directly to your service provider and not Apple was because a few people said it in here a while back so I just took that as gospel. My bad mate.

I really hope that this is true as I would rather deal with Apple than having to send it back to T Mobile personally.

After missing UK Mail today delivering my iPhone 5 from T Mobile, thankfully, it will be with me tomorrow. Im out all day at work but someone will be at home to sign for it which is great news as it means I dont have to sort out going to pick it up at some point.

Looking forward to finally getting my hands on this elusive little so and so that they call the iPhone 5! :D

I think there's a difference between faulty and cosmetic damage out of the box. For the latter, they will direct you back to your supplier.

Im praying that mine is mint then cosmetically :D

I ordered mine in store from CPWH on Sunday. No iPhone yet and no communication at all...

Anyone done the same and received?

Thanks

CPW Preorder Accessory Bundle

Has anyone who preordered their iPhone 5 from Carphone Warehouse (online or on the phone) on Friday 14th and were offered a free accessory bundle (screen protector, case and in car holder worth £37.97) received it yet? I remember it said it could arrive up to 10 days in a separate package after the iPhone 5 arrives but was just wondering if anyone had received it yet?

Cheers.

Looks like all iPhone 5 supplies have evaporated within leicestershire region. Rang Apple Highcross the past 3/4 and there has been hardly anything available. :(

After days of no success with the Apple Reservation system, I managed to get hold of someone at carphone warehouse in Cribbs Causeway (Bristol).

They have the 64GB SIM free (Black and White) in stock. Same Prices as Apple.

I managed to reserve one, and will be picking it up today! (in about 3 hours).

Anyone in the bristol area who want one... They are the guys to speak to. Everywhere else in about a 100 mile radius is out of stock.

Seems to me it's the pay as you go versions that are the shortest in supply. Contract customers seem to be more in luck.

Be aware that Carphone Warehouse warn you online that once a SIM card is activated in the iPhone 5 it is then LOCKED to that network.

They have the 64GB NOT SIM free, LOCKED TO NETWORK OF FIRST SIMCARD INSERTED (Black and White) in stock. Same Prices as Apple.

What you should have posted, just to protect any reader thinking they might be able to buy unlocked sim free from CarPhoneWarehouse and then discovering they had bought a locked iPhone.

I've been following this thread for a while, thought I'd sign up and tell my tale

I've been to 4 different apple stores as well as buying online (apple) and I've had no luck getting one, Regent Street, Westfield, MK and Watford

I gave up looking for one as apple online delivery date had changed to middle of October.

After reading many reviews I ordered the HTC One X and expecting delivery of it on Saturday, was heartbroken at this point really wanted the 5

Then I called the Carphone Warehouse on the off chance they have one in stock, and YES!!!

Managed to get a sim free 32GB in White, they had 64GB as well but thought I won't use all that!

I paid £7.50 extra to have it delivered to me tomorrow by Yodal, the guy I spoke reassured me they had it in stock over and over!!

So those of you wanting sim free's try Carphone Warehouse, I have read they aren't essentially sim free as they lock them selves when you insert a sim, tbh I'm not to fussed when I go abroad etc I tend to use roaming and I never leave Europe tbh!

Called orange and they are sending me a nano sim they said it'll take up to 4 working days, but you know I've waited this long what's another week!

!

I think it annoys a lot of people that CarPhoneWarehouse continue to call them sim free, and charge the same price as Apple do for a genuine sim free handset, when they are NOT sim free, CPW sell locked stock, it just do happens the way Apple handle it is to allow CPW to maintain one stocked item that they then lock to the network of choice.

A locked phone is not worth as much as a proper sim free unlocked phone, the price should reflect this.

They also shouldn't be allowed to falsely advertise as sim free when it is anything but.

Congratulations Dude.

Don't forget to re post with your first thoughts after using it for a week or two !

I'm still at the chasing stage.

No CPW's have the ip5 16gb black/slate version near me ,and I'm not bothered about the lock out either as I use 02 only and don't travel abroad.

I just may end up either ordering online or wait it out for more stock to hit.
