I agree with you though. Went contract free with my 4, and don't see myself ever going back to a contract. Even with Three's prices the freedom is worth it (I expect to switch to EE when they start up here, some time in the next few months, and then possibly to Three once they start using the 1800MHz bands EE was told to sell them).

Yeah, 3 do an unlock for £25, O2 for free, Orange is somewhere in the £15-£20 mark and I think Vodafone is similar. Not sure about T-Mobile.
 
Well have bit the bullet and cancelled my order after decided i will wait to see how long before tomtom bring out a holder as use the satnav on my iphone everyday.

Least i wont keep checking to see whats going on with my order and have to wait in next friday :eek:

Yes, log in to the store using your Apple ID and cancel the cables.
 
its taken about 20 tries to get the app store to accept a order, then it orderd 2!

5 phone calls to natest....
had to move money around so they both could be paid for and neither declined.
a call back from fraud to accept the card as available to use.
cancel the un wanted phone.

and now waiting for the dispatched email!

what a freekin` ball ache!

i hope it will be worth all the stress lol.. i dont think i could of doe all this at 3am with no sleep like some of the americans have had to do!

between that and too much caffine i feel emotionaly drained :D:p

They also threw in a "use your minutes in Europe thingy" which could be good when i go on holiday ^^

But condisering im upgrading from £36 quid a month for a 8GB 3gs with 500mins and 500MB data i think it a pretty big jump lol

Either the minimum wage call center guy knows something we don't (guess they could have a conference with info this morning, seems unlikely though), or he is wrong. Only EE and Three have any 1800MHz at the moment, and if there is any more free (not sure on that) OFCOM aren't planning to auction it till next year. By the time it rolls out I'd imagine the 5S will be available.
 
Has anyone else's actually moved from 'Processing' yet? I would have thought that's as far as it will go until next week when it says 'Prepared for Shipment'

That's whats happened every other year. I'm not talking about the 'Dispatched' part on the email, I mean when you log into the 'Track Your Order' page on apple.com or the Apple Store app.

Anyone notice the lightning to 30 pin adaptor is £25 from the store, but when you buy your iPhone under 'additional accessories' it's £30?
 
I'm amazed there's no nano-sim info from any UK carrier other than 3.

Where are o2/Voda/Orange's c***ing nano sims?
 
Just had a call from natwest fraud protection about my iPhone transaction to confirm my transaction is legit

They blocked the £529 payment so not sure if this has messed up my order

Spoke to O2 on online chat last night and they are apparently sending me one out. He assured me it was a nano sim when i asked if he was just gonna send me a micro sim by mistake, so we will see!
 
Signed up with Voda for a black 64GB on contract.
Currently pending credit checks, anyone know how long that will take?

I have a good credit history, though am currently a Stay at home parent.
 
Just talked to O2 online about how to get a nanosim to switch my current rolling contract to. The guy said they hadn't been told yet, but he'd guess sometime after the 21st. Hopefully his guess is wrong (With the micros they were available in their stores from Mid-week before the release). Worst case if we hear nothing by Wednesday I'll go get a monthly rolling contract from Three, as they seem to be a better price now (by a couple of £ a month, but, every little etc), and apparently have the nanosims in store already from what others have said. I'd just prefer not to switch now, and then again in a couple of months when EE actually gets going.

how do you talk to them online?I tried phoning them but was on hold for 30 minutes.

Ugh I hope they roll them out before the 21st! I need my 02 sim, I have my iphone 4s and I want to keep my existing number and credit

I think the issue is the specification also has the nano being slightly thinner, so depending how much give there is in the phone we may have to do some careful sanding if we cut down. Some people might not be brave enough to go that far.

O2 mention nano sims on their sim swap page, so they are clearly planning to offer them, I just hope they get their arse in gear and do it before the phones arrive.

Blocked mine too, I'm not sure if this has now messed up my order.

When I rang up I confirmed the blocked transaction was legit, and they have removed the safeguard on my account
 
Everybody needs to relax about the nano-sims. I got the iphone 4 bought direct from Apple store. I went on the day and casually went over to the tmobile store (who at the time were abysmal with things like the iphone) and got one. Admittedly I paid £5. But I'd say you are nearly 90% likely to get on the day if you just go to your local store and ask for one.

It's very unlikely you will have the phone before the 21st, so on the 21st just go to your local store and pick one up. All the networks have now been doing iphone launches for at least 2 cycles and are more than aware of the need for nano-sims. Mark my words walk into network store on the 21st and just buy (or get for free if your network is good) a nano sim.

Since I'm on a rolling contract I don't have credit, but I'd prefer not to have to deal with phoning them for a PAC code to switch numbers across, and then waiting for it to be transferred (I don't think it takes too long these days, but I would prefer not to find out).
