...Only EE and Three have any 1800MHz at the moment, and if there is any more free (not sure on that) OFCOM aren't planning to auction it till next year. By the time it rolls out I'd imagine the 5S will be available.

I believe that O2 and Vodafone do own some of the 1800MHz spectrum, but the amount is so tiny that they can’t move existing 2G/3G services already using that band to other ones, in order to free up enough space for 4G services on 1800MHz.

The next 4G auctions will be 800MHz and 2.6GHz spectrums, which the current iPhone 5 doesn’t work with – as you say, the 5S might be out, but it’s also been suggested (this was analysts, for what that’s worth) that Apple will bring out different models to work with those spectrums. Either way, it looks like some might be locked in.

Everybody needs to relax about the nano-sims. I got the iphone 4 bought direct from Apple store. I went on the day and casually went over to the tmobile store (who at the time were abysmal with things like the iphone) and got one. Admittedly I paid £5. But I'd say you are nearly 90% likely to get on the day if you just go to your local store and ask for one.

It's very unlikely you will have the phone before the 21st, so on the 21st just go to your local store and pick one up. All the networks have now been doing iphone launches for at least 2 cycles and are more than aware of the need for nano-sims. Mark my words walk into network store on the 21st and just buy (or get for free if your network is good) a nano sim.

Bit tricky when you're waiting at home for the delivery....

Blocked mine too, I'm not sure if this has now messed up my order.

When I rang up I confirmed the blocked transaction was legit, and they have removed the safeguard on my account

Go into your Apple account and see if there is a button to tell it to retry. Mine didn't affect the time stated (at least, not yet), but that was a few hours ago.

I suspect they are seeing all these large transactions from this one "obscure" company named after a fruit, and no one told their software that today that isn't unusual activity.

That worked once the "Cancel Item" link appeared. Without the adaptor in the order the delivery date has returned to next Friday.

Good to hear mate :) Hopefully it's not too late and Apple ships ours out for next Friday! Holding thumbs.

White iPhone 5 - 16GB

Website wasn't working for me at 8am, tried various browsers. Then decided to load up the iPhone Apple Store app which ran perfectly fine.

Delivers 21/9 :D

Someone else way have already mentioned this but just to confirm, you can get a nano sim in-store at Three.

They said they weren't doing them yet until I told them that they were

It's a five minute process. Costs a fiver. They've got sim adapters too so I can use this in my 4s until the 5 arrives.

So far, this is one of the easier iPhone order processes I've been through!

Either the minimum wage call center guy knows something we don't (guess they could have a conference with info this morning, seems unlikely though), or he is wrong. Look at pages 7-8. Vodafone and O2 do actually have a limited amount of 1800MHz spectrum (11.6MHz each compared with 90MHz for EE and 30MHz for Three). Anyone brighter than me want to suggest why they can't use it?

[It seems that Orange/TM were given far more of the 1800MHz than o2/voda to compensate for the latter two having sole use of the 900Mhz spectrum].

Guys, you have 7 days to get a nano-sim. All of the phone stores will be getting them in today (if they don't have them already) or Monday (if they're really disorganised). Just waltz into one over the weekend/next week and pick one up.

Maybe give the store a call and ask first.

I would prefer to have it ready when my phone arrives. Even if the phone arrives early in the day I would prefer not to go to the store on iPhone release day, the staff will almost certainly not be in a good mood. They will have been whined at all day by people upset that the store only had 10 iPhones to sell, all in 16GB. I'll ring them on Wed/Thurs to see if they have any then I can go an pick up. I imagine the Nanosim stock will arrive a few days in advanced to give them some prep time.

Order still processing. Called Natwest they said payment approved. Anyone else in this position?

It'll be processing till they start packing them in boxes to ship. If your transaction has been approved, and your date is "Delivers 21st" (rather than "21st in most areas") then I'm fairly sure you're good.

Check the @ThreeUK twitter feed http://www.twitter.com/ThreeUK - they suggest it should be charged and then refunded later. Presumably via a bill credit. Something I'm sure their social media CS will assist with once things calm down.

My payment was declined on the first attempt, my bank immediately phoned me to confirm I had made the purchase and then authorised the amount. I hit the button on the order screen to attempt payment for a second time and it was approved immediately. My order did not go to processing, I was asked to submit the payment a second time.

Thanks for the CPW link to teh person a few above.

O2 (for the £36ppm 24month) seem to be beating Vodafone, TMob and Orange in terms of price. So looking good.

Less data than 3 and phone is 20£ more though.

Others are saying dispatched?!

I think people are just referring to the confirmation email where it said 'Dispatched: Delivers on 21/9 in most areas'

I don't think anyone's actually says 'Dispatched' under their order status Yet. That probably won't happen until sometime next week.
