Probably but does seem pretty mental to flat out lie on that level? Perhaps they are challenging the Decision OFCOM made.

O well i can wait for 4G while other people beta test it for me :)
Im quite dubious whether EE's 4G will be a success.

I suspect the people on the end of the phone just don't know what they are talking about, or have been given information by someone who doesn't (a manager making stuff up to seem knowledgeable when asked seems more likely that one of the call centre people risking their job giving wrong info).

I found it cheaper to just buy the iphone 5 unlocked straight from apple and purchase a cheap nano sim from a website some of the contract plans ive seen are an absolute joke.Ive always had a contract phone but this time i going to save a bit money and just buy the phone outright i had no problems at all getting on the website this morning at 8am and ordering unlike when i was buying the iPhone 4s

There's talk of O2 and Vodafone asking to use the existing 3G frequencies for LTE. Surely this would swamp their network and result in incredible slowdown for everyone, but most noticeable for 4G customers? Not that I know anything about telecom.

not sure how easy that would be, my experience was on the GSM radio network which is all TDM and needs discrete, non-overlapping frequencies to work. I don't think 3G or LTE works in the same way.

I can't see Ofcom agreeing to reusing the 2100MHz frequencies, it would make the auction next year valueless as nobody would be interested in buying more frequencies for LTE, they'd just use what they have. BTW, 3 have the most 3G spectrum at 2100MHz as the newcomer to the market.

Mine says processing items, delivers 21/9. Just saw the shipping time. 2 weeks now. Do you think if it says delivers 21/9, we'll still get it on release date? Also I take it there's no Micro-SIM so I'll need to buy one from my carrier?

Everyone who ordered early will get it on release day, But as usual, one person will say they got told differently and there will be mass hysteria.

Bit tricky when you're waiting at home for the delivery....

Go to the store after its delivered then for gods sake!

That's incredibly unhelpful. I live MILES from the nearest store and my phone may not be delivered until late in the day.

It's not the end of the world, but I would like to be able to use my new iPhone on the day I get it. So, the very valid point people are making is that it would be helpful to be able to get sims before launch day.

Just curious as to whether anybody has 'downgraded' in terms of capacity this time around? I have a 32GB iPhone 4S but opted for the 16GB iPhone. iTunes Match and iTunes in the Cloud mean I don't need to store as much music (or video) on the phone itself, so 16GB should be fine for me.

What's up with O2 today? Seems they've only just got 'partial' tariffs up.

If anyone's interested, I'm keeping track of tariffs (direct tariffs, rather than via re-sellers) in a spreadsheet, to calculate total cost over 24 months, including the fee to buy the phone.

I've been selecting mainstream tariffs. Here's what I have so far:

16GB - Cheapest:
3 - £895 - 500 mins, 5000 texts, unlimited data.
3 - £895 - 2000 mins, 5000 texts, unlimited data.
Orange, Voda, TMob between £973 to £987, with varying mins/data.

Giffgaff over 24 months including phone purchase ranges from £841 (200/un/un) to £1,129 (1000/un/un)

32GB - Cheapest:

3 - £977 (500/5000/un)
3 - £1025 (2000/5000/un)
Voda - £1037 (un/un/1gb)
TMOB/Orange £1084, with 2000 mins or 1gb data options

Giffgaff equivalent = £911 to £1199 depending on tariff

64GB - Cheapest:
3 - £1069
3 - £1117
TMob/Orange £1133
Voda £1177

Giffgaff equivalent from £1011 to £1299.

It said when i ordered that a signature would be required upon delivery. I will be at work during the day. Do you think they would leave it with my neighbour who works from home if i put a note on my door?
