I wonder if Three upgrade their contracts at the same tariff. My wife can upgrade from her 4S in January so I'll probably get here a 5s then. I've bought my phones cash and use Three's £15 a month deal which I've never had a problem with ... except my local store refusing to give me a SIM for my iPhone 5 on launch day.

doesnt seem to be a big rush for the 5C.
Maybe Apple has a bigger stock pile of 5Cs available? Especially if they've been producing them for a few months already by the looks of the early leaks. It'll be the iPhone 5s that they'll want to create the shortage phenomenon to drive more sales there.

I asked this when I popped in to my local 3 store yesterday and from the sounds of it no. You are effectively cancelling your old contract and starting a new one under the new terms and costs.

Like you I was hoping I could just pay the upfront cost of the phone and then stick at £35 a month, especially now seeing that its gone to £46 for the 5C.

People on Voda - is anyone planning on doing the 4G promise i.e. upgrade to a 4G tariff and hand back the iPhone 5, getting a 75% reduction in paying off the contract - should cost me about £140, as I'm on the £47 plan.

Thinking this is going to be cheaper upfront than selling the phone and buying SIM free, as I want to go up to 32Gb from 16.

Do we have to wait until 4G is rolled out in our particular cities? Edinburgh is showing as Dec at this stage.

Ebay, if my mate doesnt want it.... Its 1 month old as i had a problem with the power button last month so apple replaced it.

I am in the same boat - 1 month old iPhone 5 that has replaced a faulty iPhone. I don't know how much I can get for it or how to price it on eBay...

I have the 64gb and expect between £400-£460 on eBay... It's about a loss of £300 per year.

I just bought a 64 ip5 off eBay. Got it for 430. I could have got the s version but I didn't see it as a good enough upgrade so thought I'd get more for my money getting the 5.

Just waiting for it to arrive this weekend :)

If ordering from Apple website at 12:01AM BST - when do we anticipate them being delivered?

Monday 23rd?

My 64GB iPhone 5 is exactly the same, just been replaced due to the power button. I was looking at recent sale prices on eBay and I could count on one hand how many sold for over £500. Maybe I won't upgrade this time...

How good/organised apple's logistics are, they may be able to deliver some on the Saturday.

Thats for a 5S

And the ratings look poor!

I guess we'll only know the 5c sales figures for sure, when (if) they are released by Apple.

The fact that pre-orders are still available means nothing.. apart from the fact that Apple has stock.

It's very easy to create hype by artificially limiting pre-orders... "they sold out in 10 minutes!!".. which can reflect low stock, just as it can reflect high demand.

For all we know, there could have been the highest opening hour orders of an iPhone ever....?!*

[*I doubt it though... ;) ]

Apple's standard minimum lead time is "dispatched within 24 hours" so I'm guessing 23/9 would be the earliest delivery.

I'm going to be away until the 24th so I'll try to get from a Apple store or from 3 then.

Thank you. I've sent you a PM!

Emailed Chapelfield and they said they had a meeting with apple yesterday and the security team will come back to me.

Will update my other thread just so if anyone comes across it they will know too.

Thanks for your help! :)

I'm planning on going to Chapelfield aswell, if you've got any tips, give me a PM?

Cheers,

If it was on eBay I might have ;)

Trying to find a 'legitimate' seller was difficult though. When I say that there is a 'type' of advert we all look for to confirm that we are buying the right phone (everyone has there own type). I look for plenty of information, good quality pictures, good feedback and a well thought out and presented advert. While searching I found lots of over priced phones, or ones that had loads of spelling mistakes or no description at all. And some that came without anything but the phone (*alarm bells*- stolen perhaps). Needless to say I found that the 64 ip5 were the ones that sold for the best price when compared against a 16. The 16 could get up to £400, while an extra £30-40 would get you a 64.

Sometimes its just easier to buy new.

UK iPhone 5s and 5c Thread

I have just read the whole 14 pages.

Are all LTE 4G networks the same? I am on 02 and regularly run out if data but enjoy the coverage. I live in central London but do wander around the south and Cardiff.

Is there somewhere I can check to see who had the best coverage and contract offers all in one for an upgrade to the 5s.

Myself and my partner will be upgrading but not sure who to go with next.

Ok thanks both.

I'm off work 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Debating wether to queue or wait and have it delivered - if realistically they can deliver by the 24th.
