I'm wondering what are my chances like to buy a 5S unlocked at the Buchanan Street store in Glasgow if I arrive at around 7:45am?
The only queueing I've done before was outside the Covent Garden store in London for an iPad 4, and the queue for that was very small (although I expect for the 5C/5S it'll be much larger)
I walked down Buchanan Street last year, on the morning of the 5 release (I was in Glasgow for a meeting) about 8am.. and the queue was 200+.. enormous.. snaking around tensa-barriers..
I think you'll need to get there earlier! Plus be prepared to spend half the morning there.

1 - no. 3G only.Question 1 - will I be able to use this contract with a 5s to access the 4G network or would it be limited to 3G only?
Question 2 - if I purchase the handset sim-free from the US, will it work on our UK networks' 4G bands?
Question 3 - is the only way for me to get 4G access in the UK to have to switch to an iPhone-specific 4G contract or are there any other more advisable contracts out there?
2 - no definite answer on this yet. The technical specs suggest it might, but mobile phone spectrums are more complicated than just the frequency.
3 - yes; not that I know of.

Don't forget the 20% VAT you'll pay on the phone when bringing it back into the UK.I'll be in Singapore on launch day. Looking at prices, I can get the 64 gig 5s for about £649, and the Singapore model looks like it has all the UK LTE bands and more. Any downsides to buying abroad, such as warranty?
Oh, and be careful with where you buy, and what you buy... lots of stories of buying phones in Singapore, only to find out they're a fake/copy.
