i'm probably gonna get slated here for this reply, as by the sounds of it i will be in the minority

Ive not read all of this thread as its hours of my life that i wont get back but i have read from about page 90ish over the last few days.....but people really need to have a reality check....

its a phone! some people on here must think that its a new lung transplant thats coming!!

i dont agree / disagree what apple have done but they cant do right for doing wrong.....when IOS7 was released on the 18th and the whole world and possibly ET was trying to download it, they get slated as the servers could not cope (not surprised there!!)

So for the 5s launch, they decide to stagger it worldwide to avoid the blackouts and...people are still unhappy.

Yeah i agree it was unlucky that us brits were put onto a 7-10 business day delivery from the start but...its not like its next year!! and to goto CPW to get one and then put in a 3 simcard...then pay to get it unlocked to use on what ever network your using...are you mad? Paying the extra £15 to use the phone roughly 7 days sooner?? wow! (Or is it a case of that you want to show off your new toy to your friends as they have an older model)

I dont think any company could store and dispatch millions of phones in all colours and sizes within a few days of it being released. If they sold 9 million in the first weekend...nobody could predict what colour / size were the most common ones.

I ordered a 64gb grey via apple...and it gets here when it gets here. If its here next week...great, if its not then it will be the following week...great. At least some of the IOS bugs will have been ironed out before i get it!!!

Its not like apple took the money the minute you ordered it and has gained interest on the money over the last week or so - that would be a different matter!

So guys....chill out, have fun and have a great weekend (with or without your 5s) ;)

You're spoiling our fun. Go away and be adult some other place..............

Just checked out some australian posts and it took somone's order 16 hours to change from preparing to ship to shipped. So based on that we should either see shipped around 12pm tomorrow if they work weekends or first thing Monday morning! :)

Bit foxed here.
My order has moved to: Preparing for Dispatch
The hold on my bank account has disappeared and I now have all the funds available.
Any advice welcome

Apple checked to see if you had the funds so tested taking the money. You have them so they returned it then went onto preparing for dispatch. When its dispatched they will take the money.

Interesting developments, hope your phones come soon!

I cancelled my order from 00:01 on the first day of ordering after walking into the trafford centre store today and coming out with what I had already ordered online. The only other people around the apple store were the 'highly organised' scalpers who tried to get me to buy them yet another phone...

Bit of a cynical view. Some folks have sold their previous smartphones in anticipation of a launch day 5S in their hands which is (was?) par for course for Apple. Hence the sense of urgency. After all, going back to a feature phone or alternative smartphone you're not invested in isn't fun. Also not everyone has access to a local Apple store and/or the luxury of queuing. Spending £16.99 to mitigate that situation isn't a bad tradeoff i'd imagine.

Not everyone buys something to show it off. Besides iPhones are not much of a status symbol anymore anyway.

I get the point you're trying to make but you should also remember not everything is black and white.

Does it work the same way with CC? The authorised amount on my card disappeared today, but I'm still stuck at Processing Items

Well brent cross open at 9 tomorrow and white city at 10. Both fairly close to me, so will head to brent cross early and then go to white city if no luck.

Will be frustrating if there is no stock on a weekend, its going to make it impossible for those of us at work. I can't even order online as I have a store gift card that I want to use and it can only be used in the physical store! Completely ridiculous!

I thought Tim Cook is trying to encourage us all to go their retail stores? It feels like he is doing everything to turn us away, it's been a horrible experience!

Just be aware that the Stratford store opens at 10am but was selling iPhones from 9am (via a queuing system outside). This may apply at some of the other stores that open at 10am.

Order was placed 12:03am on Launch Friday :)

Ordered iPhone 5S from o2 on Monday, got it on Tuesday, paid Phone Plan and requested unlock on Tuesday too... No luck so far, it can take upto 10 working days, so simply return it tomorrow for the full refund

Sorry to hear that. As I'm on o2 and about to shift to giff gaff which is also run on o2 I'm not worried if it takes 10+ days, I just want to unlock incase I want to try another network later on. .

That's not education. That's just spiel. If you think Apple have always treated fellow companies in the same way as their direct customers, then you're a noob.

I do not dispute this. My problem is that Apple have seen fit to furnish stock with this company rather than supplying to the people who wanted to pay 7 days ago. Yes, we were aware of the delays. But mark me as ignorant if I thought every company Apple were supplying to would be liable to the same wait.

Actually you are the noob, in every way, you might be a nooby here, but you should learn to interact in a way with better manners.

Just to add, you might have ordered 7 days ago, but Apple has stipulated 7-10 working days until dispatch, and then delivery time on top. You have no right to be whining and complaining, the clear and unambiguous time period late out has yet to be reached.

Do you think CarphoneWarehouse and the networks sat up till midnight last Thursday to order? They ordered weeks (maybe even months) before you, of course Apple are going to prioritise their orders, that is just good business practice.

Poor little Theydon with his one phone ordered, or CPW and their multiple orders of a hundred thousand units or more?

Payment requested for 64GB Silver iPhone 5S at 21:00 27/09/2013. Ordered just before midnight via Apple Store App (order actually has date of 19th Sept). The UK iPhones are on their way!

I believe they will unlock it within 10 days, but unfortunately I was never happy with o2 internet and I am using EE 4G (LTE) these days. Even this week I tested their o2 4G and its quite slower compare to even T-Mobile 3G
However I believe someone can be satisfied with o2 or giff gaff internet or coverage

By the way, anyone on O2 who's upgraded either with them or are getting phone via Apple...

Even if you had a 2012 iPhone 5 Nano sim you WILL need a new 2013 4G enabled nano sim...

They are different sim's and has a little 4G in the corner of the side with serial number on.

If you ordered from O2 they include a sim in the box but it just says for Pay monthly and Business customers ... makes no real mention of it being 4G but a sim-swap will be needed. Only takes about 20 minutes on their http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/ site

Hope this helps.
How do you know it's coming from apple direct?
Can it be tracked at all... On O2 business and don't have order reference sadly :(

Dave

Sorry for the noob question, but if that's true I hope it's only for existing/future 4G accounts. How will that affect putting current Nano-sims that are 3G only into the phone?

The easiest way is just refuse the delivery
No need to pay for return and you will get your money back

thanks for the help but i called apple and got one of the iphone in my order cancelled.

ps i am still stuck at processing items. ordered around 12:06am and got the confirmation email at 12:14am :/

Not quite all Asian! Not a lot of English being spoken and they all seem to know each other. Lots of place saving as well.
