be patient, am sure there are workers quickly painting some silver phones with gold paint as I type.
Quick 4G question:
The specs for the UK models of the 5S on the Apple website (link was in a post a few pages back) show that it is not compatible with the 800 MHz frequency,
That is what O2 are using for 4G.
I'm assuming I've missed something, as that would imply the 5S won't work on O2 4G..
It's frustrating the implementation of 4g worldwide. It would be really interesting if they did not work on 02
There was some doubt after the keynote as Apple didn't list O2 as operators. O2 have categorically stated that the 5s will get 4G on their network though adn they wouldn't say without being certain.
Don't give the Scalpers ideas!![]()
O2 is the only major network that doesn't even have 3G in the town where I work. EDGE only arrived last yearO2 just got its carrier update to enable 4G

If someone who has got their 5s already can post the model number from the back case it can be compared to the tech specs on the site to see what bands it supports, that would answer the O2 question. It's not clear from the Apple site which one is the UK model number.

What is the delivery estimate that they gave you when you ordered? 7th-11th October?
O2 use band 20, 800DD. The uk model will work.

Ah, but that's my point... 800DD doesn't necessarily mean 800MHz.

Hence my question.
I'm not an expert on telecommunications network frequencies, so I don't know.
The 5S will support O2 4G, but not until the carrier update is released and I quote, "in the coming weeks". Got an update in work telling us about it. They were somewhat mum on why there was a problem in the first place though.

O2 uses band 20
Uk model supports band 20
DD just means digital dividend which means it was reclaimed from the digital switchover.
My order is now preparing for dispatch! Ordered at practically 12:01AM on the dot. In fact, my confirmation says I ordered on the 19th! Now we wait for dispatch!
