No movement on my 64gb gold have decided if nothing my monday will cancel and order a new mac mini instead was a toss up between what i was going to have so will be happy with either decided against going carphonewarehouse 
So, anyone got any guesses what an "October" ship date means now the 7-10 business day ones are on the move? I ordered Sat 21st PM, initially I figured that if the first batch was going out around now for delivery next week the first of the October ones would likely be following about a week later. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

yes mine status is preparing for dispatch.
My 64GB/grey ordered at 3am and pegged for delivery on 8th-11th is still processing.
7 business days from Friday 20th is Tuesday 1st Oct. That coupled with the 1 day later delivery means I'm not expecting any movement until Monday at the earliest.

Congratulations to all the brits who are finally getting their hands on this amazing technology. I can tell you it's well worth the wait. iPhone 5s is the best smartphone ever made and it's not surprising demand is so high because consumers want the best.

To be fair though, its a bit of a "How long is a piece of string question?"
Nobody knows when other orders will ship. Fact is right now, many people who placed orders at midnight, myself included, have still yet to see their order status change from 'Processing', while it finally seems some orders are just getting dispatched.
So nobody can say when orders which were just given an 'October' date will go out. Further to that, it seems that which model and colour you have ordered may come into play as well.
I seem to have some tracking info now, apple still says preparing for shipment though so it's probably about to be collected.

Once on the tracking page it gives you a tracking number, download this app on your iOS device:

Select International Couriers > UPS > Enter the UPS Tracking Number.
You will now get notifications when your parcel gets scanned at different locations, it will also tell you when it's out for delivery.

Fair comment. I should maybe have been a bit more specific anyway: what I really meant was since the ship date for orders placed today is still quoted as October, does anyone have any idea how long it might be before ones ordered soon after the ship date changed to that might ship. It seems unlikely that orders placed today and orders placed a week ago will ship together, but we'll soon find out I suppose.
You need to put it in the 'Track By Reference' section, not the tracking number.
Payg cost was £709 + £15.42 unlocking charge. But had no delivery costs or anything, and walked away with the phone there and then. They tried to sell me a pay and go sim card preloaded with £15 claiming this was all they had, but then magically there was one available for nothing.
It wasn't a witty answer, your dispatch estimate is "October", it will be dispatched sometime before the end of October.
That is how it is, if you think anyone can be more precise you are wrong, unless someone has a direct line to Tim Cook and wants to update it for you?
It's "October" plain and simple.
