I have just received my dispatch notification from Apple. Estimated delivery date 7th October.

There is little you can speculate on to make any kind of decision though based on what information we currently have.
As I've already said, there are people who placed orders before the web store was even up who are still processing, so to make any kind of guess as to when orders which were placed afterwards and just have October is pointless.

Sorry, I hardly ever post but I read every day - particularly this thread for the past week, thanks all for your contributions!
Well, I've been particularly anxious about this order but I can breathe now hehe.
Ordered in the UK via the app on launch day confirmed at 00:02
Yesterday finally moved to 'preparing for dispatch' at around 16:20
and at around 12 noon today states DISPATCHED!
So happy, gonna track it now, but I know many are wanting to know how long from preparing to dispatched for those early app orders!
For me the anxiousness was I only have a single debit card. Put my order in in good faith on launch date and also acknowledged the 7/10 days till charged, HOWEVER, my card expires on Monday - Natwest haven't sent me a new card yet, I was having nightmares of all this waiting and the card failing, needing to put a new order in and being sent to the back of a particularly long queue.
I'm SO Relieved!

Received my Dispatch email from Apple, also predicting delivery 7 October.
Apple seem to allow a week for China-UK deliveries, but in my experience they always arrive earlier. The UPS delivery date should show up soon - they tend to be a lot more accurate. Hopefully delivery on Wednesday?

I did a delivery estimate from Shenzen, CN to the UK and it says UPS International Expedited (which is what UPS say they're delivering by) it should be here by Wednesday. No guarantees though

Also dispatched also delivers Oct 7-10 - in my experience Apple are very accurate with their delivery estimates. Wouldn't expect to receive it before th 7th put it that way.. Nice that there has been movement though!
You can't get the VAT back at the airport on the apple products bought at the apple store. They don't participate in the retail export scheme.
Plus surely there are restrictions on how much too. Given that these people likely have a suitcase full of phones. No doubt you would also technically have to declare these when arriving back in your own country as well if its not within Europe.
Mine has left too - looks like the same plane!
Now, who is is going to be the first to track where the plane is heading next

Which site do I use to track it? I can't use the tracking number Apple provided on UPS website.
