Guess the same goes for tesco clubcard credit card members too..

When it comes to Credit Cards they can force the authorisation through anyway so its not really matter of trust but the reason its mainly Amex and MasterCard that this is happening is that due to BIN ranges (First 6 digits of card) sometimes card processors can't tell if a Visa Card is a credit card or debit card, so often a Visa credit card is treated like a Visa debit card.

Unless you get there at 8AM, you don't have a chance. You'll have a much better chance at the smaller stores (preferably the non-London ones).

I went last week got there by 7.30 and still missed out on gold ones planning on going at like 6 tomorrow bloody scalpers at the front take the piss.

When might we expect movement on the batch currently sitting in Germany? Clinging to the posibilty of Tuesday delivery instead of Wednesday :D

Mine 64GB Gold is too!

When do you think they'll be delivered? weekend?

I think you'll get it on Monday at the earliest. I ordered two phones (16GB Gold and Silver) One shipped on Saturday and is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and the other shipped this morning and is due to arrived on Friday.

I am!! Wondering why it's taking so long in Cologne?!? Almost 24 hours!!

They are just sitting in Cologne not doing anything and waiting till 2nd.

Having ordered so many gadgets from Apple, it's well understood that UPS won't deliver early or late. :)

If one shipped this morning and is arriving friday, that means mine will ship tomorrow and be here Saturday...

My MacBook had a similar experience to this. It stayed in Cologne for around 24 hours before leaving in the early hours of the morning, reaching the UK less than an hour later, and making its way down to me the same day. Assuming the phones currently stuck in Germany leave around the same time as the chap in this thread who received his today, they'll leave around 2am, reach Britain at 2:30, and travel their separate ways before being loaded onto vans for delivery around 7am tomorrow. I'm hoping mine is one of those, but since I'm scheduled for Wednesday I won't hold my breath!

Anybody else seeing this message when tracking via UPS:

09/30/2013 3:51 A.M.
Pkg delay-addl security check by Gov’t or other agency- beyond UPS control.
Koeln, Germany

That's a hands on customs inspection. Means agency man has opened it and done various tests like a drugs scan, X-ray etc before resealing it. Your phone may well arrive opened.

Personally I hate CPW because of past experiences with them and their greed with this launch, but not buying my iPhone 5S from them would have been cutting my nose off to spite my face. That said, I'm seriously thinking about returning it when my Apple one turns up later this week.

These were my feelings too but i've cancelled my Apple order. The 5S CPW sent me works fine, they also refunded the £50 premium they charged. Plus i'm grateful in general that they've afforded me the opportunity to own a 5S earlier than what Apple was offering which allowed me to sell my 5 quicker. Granted i had to splurge £15 to get it unlocked. But i knew that going in.

I'm not the biggest fan of CPW but overall i'm happy.
