While this is true, UPS tracking is a bit dodgy this week. My phone was delivered near Edinburgh on Wednesday and all UPS ever showed was the destination scan in Edinburgh, while the Apple site was actually showing 'Out for Delivery' - so I think UPS are having issues with their public tracking site this week.
Oh and the destination scan was long after the phone had actually left the depot to go out for delivery.

Too many over eager Apple buyers constantly checking and hammering their system :D

Small quantity of Space Grey 64Gb available at Touchwood Solihull store this morning. No queues. Suspected scalpers vanished after learning no gold available.

Hey guys can someone answer this quick question.

If I buy a phone through the carphonewarehouse when the contract ends etc do I need to go to the carphonewarehouse to deal with it or can I go to the networks store?

Basically when you take out a contract at carphonewarehouse is it with the carphonewarehouse or the mobile network?

Network, CPW basically act as agents, you can deal with them if you want though.

In preparation for the 5S arriving on Monday I've just been to the Three store to get a nano SIM and adapter to go in my 4S until Monday. Service switched over in 10 minutes which was great. Charging £5.11 not so great, also had a hell of a job getting the nano SIM into the adapter, the adapter into the tray, and the tray in the 4S. Hope it's not stuck in there :)

Edited to add the CPW store over the road had a handmade sign in the window saying they had 5S 16GB and 32GB in stock. Presumably just grey though.

My friend had his service switched to a Nano SIM for free!!! they also through in a free adapter so he could continue to use his 4s until the 5s arrived.

Annoys me how some stores (probably Store Managers) are out to make a few quick £££.

I'm based in the UK , my 32GB gold :apple: iPhone 5s landed in Germany for its import scan @ 4:52 today, its due to arrive on Monday but with an ounce of luck I may get it early, Germanys only across the pond right

Yep, £5.11 is a strange amount too. The store manager couldn't get the SIM change to go through on the system. He tried several times and declared there must be something wrong with my account. Then his assistant had a go, and she got it to work first time! Finally I was waiting to see when he would give me my driving licence back, having asked for id right at the start. He had forgotten about it, and I could easily have walked out of the shop without it if I wasn't on the ball. Not very impressive start to finish, although it's a great network (for me anyway) so I can put up with the occasional amateur hour.

I have my phone and a nice red cover... just not the nano sim which has yet to arrive from my network

If I try a 3 PAYG in it so that I can set the phone up (and also because I want to check whether the 3 signal is any good at home and in my usual haunts), will that mess things up when I switch the sim back to my usual sim/network/number?

Hopefully the gyroscope issue won't be present, the power button rattles slightly if I shake the phone but I guess that is a design issue more than a fault and I don't shake my phone usually anyway.

If you bought it unlocked from Apple, the only side effect should be it will add an extra number to your iCloud account for iMessage etc, which you can easily remove later. If you bought it from CPW, it will lock to the Three network.

The quickest way to get a SIM is to go to a store, although not always the most convenient. The first time I ordered a SIM online from Three, it took five days to come, but the second time, it arrived next day, so it can be a bit hit and miss.

I must say the service I've received has been OK, I went in last night to sign up for a new contract and new 5S, the guy who set everything up was really really helpful.

I just hope i never have to call their "customer service" team as they are truly truly awful!

Maybe go back into the Store and ask for a refund, let them know others have got the Nano SIM for free!!! (if it helps the receipt showed a 100% discount from the £5.11 first put through the till)

Many thanks, I hadn't thought about the extra number in iCloud account but I can probably live with that for now. I have the 3 SIM from a CPW so going to try it now. :)

EDIT: Yes I bought the phone from Apple, just the 3 SIM came from CPW.

Has it landed in the UK yet? Perhaps I won't see mine until Monday after all then but to be fair I've waited two weeks, I guess a few more days wont hurt :)

Now you come to mention it, I realise I didn't actually get a receipt, just the SIM and adapter. I wonder if he will credit it back later and keep the £5.11! My main concern was getting it all sorted today, so I can live with it I guess. Live and learn :)

Oh mine still shows Germany so I guess I'll probably receive it on Monday after all, Feltham is only about 45mins away from London keep your ear to the door these UPS delivery men have a tendency to move like ninjas miss the knock and you'll be left with a note saying they missed you lol

I think UPS are having hiccups with their public tracking this week. So there's a chance it may be out for delivery but the site may not have updated the status yet, try track through Apples site sometimes the status on there differs from UPS, their estimates are usually reliable though so if the UPS says it should arrive today then chances are it probably will, fingers crossed :)

I ordered two 12 hrs apart. One is in the Cologne batch for delivery on Monday, the other has gone to preparing to dispatch this morning. Looks like they are making some progress on the "October" ones.
