My 64GB Gold is saying +1 degree when stood up and -1 degree when on its side, then -1 degree when totally flat.

I honestly don't really see this as a big issue though, yes it might not be spot on, but 1 degree is so small a difference that its insignificant.

Mine says exactly the same as my 4S on every surface I've tried so far, which seems ok to me. It says -1 on surfaces I believe to be level, but so does the 4S, and that never caused me a problem.

no case/bumper on the floor? I have 4s and 5 in the house right now ( not mine) both read zero on kitchen floor. if u have asphalt or real racing do they play well? I have to compensate even with -1/-2.

I read somewhere that The Chinese have been on a weeks holiday that ended today so will probably move soon. when did u order?

I ordered a day after launch on the 21st. I wasn't expecting delivery this week, just worried that when most have gone into preparing for dispatch it's been dispatched within hours... :(

Just compared mine to my 4 and the 4 also reports -1. Maybe it's my floor!

Interesting looking at them side by side you notice the 5s screen has a much yellower tint. Presume all are like this?

I don't have a case and I tried it on the kitchen floor. No matter which orientation, it always reads -1, which obviously isn't possible. If it's -1 one way round, it should be +1 if you rotate it 180 degrees, but it always says -1.

yes as long as you are within the 1st 14 days you will receive a full retail unit. do not accept a refurb.

Yeah I definitely won't.

I notice you edited to remove about arranging pickup for after collection. Guess you don't think that will be possible?

64 GB Gold arrived with debris under screen... UGH!!

No idea how to deal with this quickly...

If you have tiles like I do (15mm granite) then there could be some variation between tiles, as 1 degree is a pretty small offset. What happens if you turn it through 180 degrees? Does the angle reverse?

Mine is a bit on the yellow side but you usually find that goes quite quickly with factory fresh iDevices. I believe it's something to do with the materials used which start slightly yellow, but that goes once they are fully cured. It should go away in a few days.

The screen just needs to burn in for a few days. I think it has something to do with the glue used and that it needs to just settle in.

I have only just got back from work - still restoring all my app sigh…

Never the less my compass works perfectly - so it's obviously not every single one which is defect. The phone was worth the wait.

Couldn't get the finger print scanner to recognise my finger and once it fails it doesn't let you do it again until you reboot (at least not for me) after doing a reset on the phone - washing my hands and wiping the sensor it worked correctly (can't say what solved the problem as I did it all at once) but one of those things worked.

Other than that had no problems - no scuffs or anything so happy so far :)

How is everyone else finding their iPhones?

Laminate floor here. -1 on all sides.

Interesting about the yellow. This phone is going back but will be interesting to see what happens with the replacement.

Finger print unlock works great for me. I just use my thumb as always and by pushing in the home button then releasing it but without removing the thumb, it unlocks instantly which is great.

Unexpected side effect is one more dot of signal on Three, so it must have a better antenna compared to 4S.

I've been using the 4S so long I had the weight and balance completely sussed but I'm finding the combination of lighter and longer means I'm conscious of being careful I don't drop it, but I'll soon get used to it I'm sure.

Sure looks classy in gold :)

Nice to see some of you guys finally getting your phones delivered! I'm loving my 64GB Gold 5S. Had it about a fortnight now. It's a stunning device.

Here's some pics in my favourite case!

u are measuring the surface so if u rotate 180 degrees u should get the same, u should worry if not :)

That doesn't make any sense. If it's reading -1 in one direction then turning it 180 degrees it should read the opposite value. Otherwise what would -1 even mean? The floor is off by one degree, but the phone has no idea which direction?

Three unlocked my 5s today :D

Very chuffed. Now to wait and see what Apple do about this gyroscope non-sense...at least I can get it replaced at an Apple store now without having to go via Three.

Three were very quick, if anyone is interested. They have plenty of stock of the 5s, and it took 2 days to get it unlocked. Not bad going - paid £15 more than Apple store for the unlock and the privilege of a walk-in purchase last Wednesday. Worth it.

yeah the phone thinks your floor is off by -1 degree. if u turn the phone 180 degrees it will still think it off by -1

Need some help guys, what's the quickest way to get a replacement for an online order that's defective?? Can it be done in store, or do you have to call up Apple Care??

5S has debris under screen...

AFAIK you can do either. For the Applecare method, see posts from Mercenary (think in this thread but it might have been in the gyro one) where he talks about how it works. Might be worth calling your local store and asking about stock of replacements in your size and colour before you go over there...
