My opinion of DPD has changed slightly this morning. I've always been on the fence after having mixed service from them in the past.
However, now I like them! They do "live" tracking so I can see where the driver is and which deliver number he's currently doing (6 of 20) and roughly how long til he's here (1 hour 30)! Very impressive.

I can't agree more. I've used DPD several times and I always get a text message saying what delivery time slot. Can fault them really.

Anyone know the easiest carrier to lock my phone onto for unlock? Just got my 5S from carphone warehouse but not put a sim in yet

How do you get this - i dont get anythin g like that info on their website?
In fact they havnt updated it from yesterday:

"We've received your order details, and we're expecting your parcel shortly"

Just in Apple Covent Garden. Was told all 5 a gone. Ten mins later a small queue started to form inside. I grabbed a ticket and was no6 in queue. They had one trolley load of 4Ss. Nabbed a slate 64. Now off home to cancel my online order.

5Ss you mean I suppose. I called the store on Regent St. and they told me that no new stock came in today, but likely on Monday...

I received an email this morning saying what time slot I've got and included a link to follow my parcel..

buying from CarphoneWarehouse I am on T-mobile and will be using T-Mobile for next 12months so if I put my T-Mobile sim in and it get locked to that how easy would it be to unlock in the future?

Thanks.

I've asked on their live chat and they said it's not possible at the moment and told me to check site regularly for update?

They don't usually unlock new iPhones for 3 months. It's to stop those trying to flip the phones on eBay.

If you'd want to ebay them then you wouldn't have put a sim in them in the first place though.

Ofcom really needs to come up with some proper regulation regarding this.

Trying to order a 5s 32gb in space grey from carphone warehouse and it's an absolute nightmare.

My bank rejected the transaction, so I had to get the restriction lifted, and then they just cancelled my order because it couldn't be processed, even though apparently they have my money in holding?! What is going on?!

5s just arrived via DPD - glad I took that punt on CPW late yesterday afternoon although I must admit CPW were either overwhelmed or just incompetent. It took three phone calls (three different stories) and one web order to get a delivery. Even then I had no email from them confirming my order (still haven't) and the only communication was a text from DPD this morning saying it was out for delivery.

Mine has just arrived from EE. The lady i spoke to said she couldn't guarantee when my phone would arrive yesterday due to stock levels, so i was expecting it some time in a couple weeks, but low & behold here it is 24hrs later :D

I'm wanting to use my Virgin Mobile SIM which I guess will lock onto EE/Orange/Tmobile. I hear they are a real pain to get unlocks from? Does me being a VM customer for 6months+ entitle me to the unlock as well or I have to go direct?

If not, is it better I just try get an o2 SIM and use their direct service or http://www.cellunlocker.net ? (They are charging $40 with 5-15 day average time)

My order still is hasn't been picked for shipping:(

I'm guessing Apple is sending stock to the stores just so they can have queues to brag about:rolleyes:

The person I spoke to at EE said something similar.

She said that there seems to be a Saturday slot, but they can't guarantee it.

Did you get an email or SMS with delivery information?

Honestly? You wont notice the difference, speed wise (on 3g anyway as i haven't got 4g yet). The fingerprint sensor and camera tho are both amazing to use. All in all, im happy that i upgraded but unless you really want the Touch ID and new camera, id say stick with the 5.

Cheers for that - I'm really having a hard time deciding if it's worth it or buying an iPad mini ...

The 5 is also missing burst shot mode and the slow mo features :/ which I will probably only use once!

I ordered mine from Apple at 12.03am Friday to avoid going through the nonsense with Vodafone I get every year.Seems I made a mistake doing this and I won't get it for 7-10 working days. All I can honestly hope for is that my order comes sooner rather then later. I'm a little disappointed it's going to take so long even though I would have been one of the first to order one direct from them online.

This I can agree with.
Nothing will get them bigger headlines more than queues. Retail is their priority at a launch, you don't get headlines by looking after online orders first.
Look at the amount of retail outlets they are opening and it's also easier to push accessories onto you if it's in a store.
It's a shame the in-store reservation system is not on yet.
Still nothing will get me driving into the city to stand in a queue waiting to see if stock has arrived, I will wait it out until my order arrives, it also means I miss the first batch.

I've had an easy run with O2.
My phone is at the delivery depot, having ordered at 8am yesterday.
Should have it before midday on Monday.

Any suggestions on this guys?
