UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

After reading hundreds of posts, I decided to post for the first time since waiting for my phone last year.

Firstly, I feel bad for those that ordered literally minutes after 0840-0850 and ended up with a week or two to wait. Been there myself and it sucks! Hopefully people that don't want theirs will cancel their orders and yours will get pushed up, or you can get it before that in store.

Regarding delivery that most people have been talking about - generally, preorders have been shipped to the countries prior to the release date. This means that people in the US will have already started seeing their phones moving through UPS or FedEx, but that's only because it takes so long to get things from one place to another. Even if they are coming from China (like with the 5s release) we still have a day or so before it needs to be despatched...UPS are pretty damn quick! The status is irrelevant, because they only update them once they have had time to go through the logistics, scanning into UPS etc. - either way, I wouldn't worry.

With cases, I decided I wanted a very slim fit case, just to stop scratching. I've read the messages saying things like why would you want to cover the iPhone etc. and I agree...completely. However, I rely on being able to sell my iPhone every year so I can get a new one and if it's not in pristine condition, you're not going to get the same £££ for it. Anyway, I decided to go for the Spigen iPhone 6 Case Air Skin (4.7). I've had the Pinlo Slice and the Desmay Slight before, but neither are available at the moment. Although Spigen are saying pre-order only at the moment, my order, which was only placed yesterday, has already been despatched with RM 1st Class (so should get it before the phone...hopefully).

Anyway, good luck to all getting your iPhones on time. Looking forward to seeing mine! :)

Also, if anyone wants a screen protector, I highly recommend xtremeguard (though they do send from the US). They are easy to apply, protect well and feel pretty good (I've used them on my 5 and 5s). Also, they are far cheaper than Zagg screen/full body protectors. They've also got a 50% off code running at the moment which shows up when you try to order (if not, its 50off).

Well technically mine was pretty late, I reserved mine for store pickup at 8:09PM last Friday and will have it at 11am next Friday morning ;).
 
I've seen a lot of people pre ordering the phone with one supplier and then asking about going to the shop on the day to buy it while cancelling their previous order. This must be causing a logistical nightmare for the networks not to mention the mess it causes for the projected stock levels. People are desperate for an iPhone that much and this sort of thing prevents others from getting an order through closer to launch. I pre ordered mine and will just be patient, it's not the end of the world if it doesn't arrive exactly on day 1 to me. :)

I'm not entirely new to the forums but it's been so long since I logged in I've long since forgotten my details, so new account and so, hello again everyone.

Just thought I'd add my wee story, I'll keep it short(ish).

i got my order in for a sim free 6+ from Apple on Friday morning, with a 19/9 delivery date so I'm pleased but impatiently waiting on Friday rolling around.

Usually at this time of year I get my shiny new toy and the missus gets my old hand me downs. But I thought for a change, and as her birthday is in four weeks, I'd order her up a new iPhone 6 (new contract, Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse).

This was on Sunday, so I was reasonably confident that it wouldn't be arriving until sometime next month, near her birthday. You can imagine how delighted i was then when yesterday I got an email from CPW with the tracking details for her phone to be delivered on Friday while mine still sits preparing for dispatch :mad:

At least she'll be working on Friday, so I can torment her with a barrage of photos of my new toy when it arrives :D
 
I don't think anyone in UK has got dispatch emails from Apple yet have they. Luckily for us tiny island. Can dispatch all the way to Thursday night. I hope today though, just to put my mind at ease...

From my over obsessive reading of everything Apple I'd say no, not yet. But that doesn't have me worried, if you have a date of the 19th from Apple then that's when it'll arrive. Based on my past experience anyway.
Friday is when it'll get me, looking out of the window every time I hear a van out my office window lol.
 
Last preorder my despatch email didn't come until Friday and about ten minutes before it was delivered.

I'm not looking forward to the flood of messages saying that people got their despatch email or didn't get it yet. Nobody on here can do anything about it now. It will arrive when it arrives, nobody will die waiting a little longer.
