You could always take the train. By the time you've paid for petrol & parking (city centre stores) it's probably cheaper - £7.50 parking in Leeds this morning & £12.00 yesterday, at Manchester Arndale centre.

I received a call from the store saying my reservation wasn't available as the system showed stock they didn't have the floor manager who rang me offered a £25 store credit and a free case without any prompting by way of an apology for the problem, good way of handling the problem, as others have been offered the same at different stores it seems as if its a standard offer from apple that is given to keep people happy

Depending on how far you've travelled it's very generous - I would imagine for some (not all) who live local, as much as they want the phone, this would be seen as a positive result.

Trust me, I can wait. I'm the guy that went through five Retina MacBook Pro's last year over the course of three months trying to get one without a yellow tint over 1/3rd of the display. Eventually I gave up and I've been waiting almost a year (October 2013 to now) to get the next version they release, the money is just sitting there set aside for one.
I know patience like no one else
Not anymore they don't.
The speed with which these phones appeared & disappeared clearly demonstrates that if you're prepared to work at it .ie sit at the pc all day, are flexible (within reason) on store, you will get that phone.
Keep yourself busy. That's what I do. Play computer games, work, spend time with the family.
Iphone 6 available at several stores for anyone interested in that model.

Sorry, I missed that message. Probably to late to answer and I hope by now you have received your phone, but I'm based literally just beside Bank tube station.
By the way I forgot to mention, if you check Apples site for the iPhone 6 (Non Plus) the delivery dates have all changed from 3-4 weeks to 7-10 days.
So if anyone was put off by the 3-4 weeks but can stand 7-10 days then now is a good time to buy
Yesterday when I checked only the 16GB was on 7-10 days but today the 16, 64 and 128 are. For Space Gray atleast I didn't check the other colours.

This is the first time I heard about an issue with MacBook Pro retina notebooks.
Which retina did you try? late 2013 one? How do you know if the screen has a yellow tint? when does it show up? I'm afraid mine is one of them now
