UK iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Thread

Well I'm still waiting in limbo after the issue with my card where my provider blocked the purchase. I ordered a 16gb space grey 6 on Monday and it's still sat at processing. People who ordered same model after me are getting theirs... I can only think the issue with payment has slowed it down? When I called apple they said payment has been authorised and that I'm literally in the next wave to receive them.

Estimated delivery between the 30th and the 3rd. I'm checking the apple site like a mad man waiting for it to despatch!

Yeah a lot of people are in similar positions but with later delivery timeframes.

I HAVE IT! In the car, will be home in 20 minutes so will get a proper look at it then and get some photos up!!! Wants to wash my hands first before I touch it, OCD Cleanliness. And it is big.... LOL.

I have the plu preordered for 10-17 Oct. But rethinking about the size and the whole bending thing, made me reconsider and go for 6 which happened to pop up as being available for collection today at the regents store thanks to the stockchecker.
 
Anyone moaning about the bending thing is a total utter gimp, end of story. It's glorious....and if you treat it properly then you will be happy for ages.
 
Try the Plus!

Just wanted to say that if you're considering the 6 Plus .. even a little bit .. then go for it. You'll be kicking yourself if you don't and if you give it a good try and decide against it at least you tried.

I got the 6 Plus and I love it .. if I'd seen one beforehand though (saw them in CPW) I would have disregarded it as too big!

Definitely, definitely give it a try!!

After 20 minutes of hold being told 7th-10th is what i'm still looking at for delivery date at the moment but stock levels are going up so it might move forward again ... pfssst whatever had enough of waiting now
 
This whole size thing reminds me when initially there was the race to become smaller and lighter. Now its gone the opposite direction. I bet there will be a time when it will start shrinking again.

I think a lot of it comes down to how you use the phone, as I feel that once you get used to that big screen, it'll be hard to revert back.

Yeah i agree. I mean the big screen does look nice. But its making the extra space in the pocket.

I went from 6+ to 6, but I don't regret trying to the + at all - I'm sure I made the right choice but only because I tried it. If I was sat here with a 6 not having tried, I'd have been wanting the 6+ !

Agree fully!

I've had mine since Saturday and it just feels right now. When I first played with one in store on Friday it felt too big and a bit cumbersome, but now as i prep the photos to sell my 5s, it seems so tiny!

I think it will take a few months for all the apps I use to optimise for the higher res screen rather than just scaling (which does a good job, but not as good as the optimised apps, basically scaling makes the fonts bigger as it stretches things to the bigger screen). But once apps are optimised it will be even better.

It fits all my pockets ok, and how people have managed to bend it from just having it in a pocket whilst driving is beyond me!

don't just pop for the 6 if the only reason is that you cant wait for the 6+. I know if i had i would have regretted it!
 
If anyone really wants a phone ASAP and can pick up from an apple stores. Use the reservation system. It does work. I did have doubts but I got my reservation today.

It's weird how quick you get used to it tho.....I've only had it 2 days and i just look at is as the norm now.....and when i look at my wife's iPhone 5 i just laugh inside.....weird huh.....I used to be the other way around!
 
It's here!

My 128 GB iPhone 6 has just arrived. Ordered on launch day but missed the first wave.

First impression is that the 4.7" size is just perfect and when I pick up the 5s after just half an hour it feels rather small and the screen cramped. Could almost have got the 6+... hmm... no i'm definitely keeping this one! :)

Hope you are all getting your new phones shortly!
