Awesome thanks. It's definitely appreciated.

Been watching the iphone6stockchecker website and its interesting seeing how originially the stock for 6+ was getting consumed within minutes, now the stock is lasting longer - seems alot more stock is coming in daily now, or more people have them so less demand :p

Yeah most people have their phones now so its more choices but still web orders have yet to catch up

Just managed to grab a Gold 64gb 6+ all thanks to l3uddz's script. Took me over ten attempts in order for the Apple site to respond though.
Many thanks to l3uddz for the push notification. Stock seems to disappear as soon as it comes in! Good luck all!

Right I bid you all a good night. Good luck to all who are waiting for their phones. I hope you get them ASAP. Will be back sometime soon. Night :)

yep, it must be really frustrating having ordered on 12th and seeing lots of people getting theirs sooner. would have thought apple would honor their preorders first! not that were complaining ;)

Lol am not complaining:) just hope those who have ordered get them also soon

even though I got what I wanted, its 5am and I've just checked Apple's website. There still 6 Plus models available and it seems less 6 now. As I thought, the 6 would eventually be the most popular model. I will cancel my preorder once I have my reservation in my hand.

I went to the Apple Store yesterday and asked how does the reservation work.
What the Apple employ told me is something I wasn't aware. He said that the reservation system resets every midnight at 00:00 and new stock is placed on the Apple stores across country. The stock that keeps appearing through the day is uncollected reservations being placed back for other people to reserve. If you really want to buy it he said, your best chance is to be up by midnight and reserve it.

And he was right. After having the "This service is unavailable, please try again later" message on the reservation section, it did reset at 00:05 and in a few seconds I placed my reservation. I only checked few stores but it appeared like plenty of stock at that time.

It's probably quieter in here because of all the bricked phones! It's almost unthinkable from apple...

As for the reservations - that sounds legit. There's must be some safety-net you'd hope because people have collected later than their time slot sometimes

Those who might not've been up at midnight, should give 9am a go. I went online yesterday at 9am and got one from Covent Garden, they seemed to have every model at that time.
Picking it up was a bit of a nightmare... I was allocated 5-6pm, I got there about 10-15 past 5 and didnt get out til just after 6. When I was leaving the queue was easily double what it had been when i joined. Also seems to me like I was one of the few who were buying one... Lots of groups of people of people seemed to be carrying out some dodgey activities passing credit cards and jumping in and out of the queue and buying 2 each then rejoining the queue... Either they had a massive smartphone hole in their families or something was up...

AppleCare+ for iPhone

I thought to post here given that it relates to the UK iPhone.

I'm thinking of buying a new iPhone 6 with AppleCare+ for iPhone...What's your thoughts? Can somebody explain me the standard warranty for mobiles in the UK? I understand it comes with 1 year of official Apple warranty (does not cover accidental damage, AC+ would cover 2 incidents), but I also understand that in the EU you always get 2 years of standard warranty....but the UK I think opted out and went for a 5 year deal instead...if this is true, what does it cover, pro's and con's vs AC+?

Thanks all for help! :)

It's all on the site. You get up to 6 years EU warranty, but apple will do 2 years without even questioning it

Bare in mind that the EU warranty ONLY APPLIES to where you bought the phone - IE: if you buy from currys or a network, you'd need to return it

If you buy from an Apple Store, you return it there and often will get a replacement device or repaired while you wait (unlike other stores who will just send it away)

Moral of this story: buy from Apple in the UK

iPhone 6 plus 16gb going spare near Glasgow if anyone interested pm me. Decided I need to get the 6 but can't be bothered with hassle of sending phone back to Apple direct as I'm going on holiday and pickup could be tricky

Thanks, will definitely buy from Apple.

So to recap:

1) without AC+ you get 6 years of standard warranty (really??? I didn't know!)
2) with AC+, you still get 6 years of standard warranty plus first 2 years of up to 2 accidental damages...?

Yup, seems very few knew about this. On release day the phones sold out online in minutes but when I went to reseve myself one at 6pm they had loads of all models (not plus) in all stores. For days you could reserve 2 phones of your choice at pretty much any store. I could have got 6 by the time they ran out.

According to most stores a lot still have the 6plus in various sizes available to order as of right now.

Don't forget, the accidental damage also incurs an excess. If you only ever use it once then you are actually out of pocket. AC+ is worth it if you make your 2 allowed claims in the 2 years.

The 6 year EU warranty thing covers manufacturing defects. It wont cover things like battery getting worn or wear and tear.

Personally would never buy AC+. It only goes as far as protection against damage and not loss or theft. I don't think many people realise but your phone is insured against damage and theft on your house insurance. Dropped my phone down the stairs, claimed on the house insurance. Excess was less too.

Of course, those phone insurance companies are not going to tell you this.
