Three are a really good network these days. Good coverage and as a 3G only network you only get the good speeds. The free calls and data while abroad is also ace.

Here's a speed test on their 4G network I took the other day.

That is pretty dam fast. Fastest I have seen is 36mb

2x 6s 128GB (one silver, one SG) moved to 'preparing for shipment' - no longer able to cancel. This is moving very early! Love it! :D

Just got off the phone from John Lewis Card Services and they've authorised the payment of 699 pounds, which otherwise would've been blocked as there's a lot of scams with scammers posing to be Apple. The authorisation is for 48 hours only and I'll need to ring back tomorrow at midnight to authorise the payments for another 48 hours.

Never been with EE. I think Three's data is great. 4G is very good and I seem to get it most places I go. I was with Giffgaff before which use O2 and the data speeds were dreadful. I got max 3mb. With three I am currently getting 15mb

I got no more than 3Mb/s with Three!!!
With EE I regularly get 10Mb/s at peak times, and have got 35+ Mb/s on occasions too.

Calling on Whatsapp and Viber much clearer on EE too. on Three people were always moaning about my voice breaking up/lagging.

I guess its all a matter of personal preference!

In terms of upgrading.

I have £380 left on my O2 refresh. What I think I might do is pay that balance off and then pay a higher initial price for the phone to reduce overall monthly payments.

At the moment O2 are doing 20gb a month with £9.99 upfront cost for the 64gb 6s phone and then £59 a month. 59 a month is far too much for me. I'm thinking of paying say £209.99 which would reduce the monthy cost to £33. Just means paying £590 for everything however it's still cheaper than buying the phone outright, PLUS I can sell my 6 to offset some of the cost.

Anyone think this is a good idea?! I need input here!

My maths is way off (rather the person on O2 chat was wrong). If I paid 209 upfront it would actually only reduce the bill to 50 a month haha
With your first quote you would be paying out £1,382 for 24 months, with your amendment you'd be paying £1,790, minus whatever you could get for selling your 6 ...possibly £390 if you're quick about it.

You could pay your way out of the contract for £380, buy a 64GB 6s from Apple for £619, taking you to £1,000, then go sim only for 12 months at around £20p\m = £240! That's a grand total of £1,240 minus the £390 you could get for your 6. And you'd be free to upgrade next year to the 7 if you felt the urge, or carry the deal over for a second year if you're happy to wait for the 7s.

If you're going to upgrade early, the latter looks like you're most cost effective option, plus there are no more "early upgrade" problems.

As I say, I've sold my iPhone today. Do I need to impair my Apple watch or will "erase all contacts and settings" do?

you can reset and erase your watch no problem.

When you restore your new iPhone and re synch the watch, it will have created a watch backup and restore back to that date and settings.

Also you can setup as new watch.

Done this before and found watch takes backups

How do you get iOS alerts from Santander? I can only set up text/email alerts for payments over £50 (Or somewhere near that), would be good if I can get alerts for all payments.
It's an Apple Pay notification, it's nothing to do with the Santander or Spendlytics app. :)

Well I like three

Thanks for this. Really puts things into perspective! I might just buy the 6s outright and carry on with my current tariff (5gb, unlimited mins unlimited texts)

Guys, can I cancel an order after it moved to 'preparing for shipment'? I kept it on for now, but I have phones reserved to pick up as well.

I'm on O2 and just did a speed test on 4G from my lounge and got just under 28Mbps

Edit: I have a Three SIM in my iPad and can only get 3G in the same location.

you need to unpair it from your phone which will back it up to your phone and erase everything on it. You can then backup your phone which will include the backup of your watch. When you receive new phone, restore the phone from the backup and when you pair your watch to new phone you will be able to restore your watch as well.

Make sure you select encrypted backup to ensure all your passwords, health data etc is backed up.
