UK iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Thread

Guys be careful ordering from Amazon for screen protectors. Most of them are advertising false thickness. I contacted several companies who wouldn't tell me the actual thickness eg advertised at 0.15mm some said it was 0.40mm some just wouldn't answer.
The 6s screen protectors need to be below 0.30mm as it delays response time from the phone

Paid the £5 upgrade fee to get delivery today, was accepted by Carphone Warehouse but still no collection or delivery slot. Worth a punt! Guess I'll have to ring up later though.

Haha yea worth a punt! However if you read the tracking site, mine atleast still says it is awaiting collection from CPW. So until DPD have it in their hands theres no point trying to upgrade it. Not long now either way :)

I've just phoned 3 and hopefully the person you spoke to was just an idiot. The lady I spoke to today said mine will definitely be going out with DPD on Friday and that as soon as DPD ha e the phones in their vans then the tracking numbers are texted to us. So call them again and challenge them on this Oct 9th malarkey.
I did have a heart attack moment when she went on hold, came back and said "hmm, was this upgrade at the same postcode you just gave me?" But she did find it then.
 
I can't believe we have these same conversations every year!

People, your phone's "status" is almost irrelevant.

The release day is the 25th, if your Apple order says "Delivers 25/9 in most areas", then you'll get it on launch day.

Those who have ordered through O2, Vodafone, EE & 3- you must surely be aware by now that these companies offer the worst levels of communications (ironically) to their customers with regards to orders.

If you're lucky, you'll get a "Shipped" email tomorrow (Thursday), but I've seen many people getting their phones before their emails!!

Keep calm and carry on, your new toy is coming!!

PS-I'm not excluding myself from the madness, I have an 8.30am reservation booked for the 25th, but I'll relax when the model I reserved is actually in my hands and not a moment before! :D[/QUOTE]

It's funny reading this stuff every year :) ..I've been on these forums for four years and every iPhone launch has been the same.
I will admit the last the first two years I was in panic about my order status not being updated or not getting a dispatch email to say my phone would be coming on time. But I know know that my iPhone should be with me on release day, regardless of when they decide to update my status!

So to summarise this thread so far.

I sold my unlocked 16Gb 6 for £330 to Mazuma Mobile... I initially asked for £350 as a private sale... this was before the announcement though....

Today, Mazuma are offering £250.... make of that what you will :)

Who cares who delivers it?! If it's pre-ordered with delivery on 25th like the majority of us.. then it will arrive on the 25th.... unless you live in one of those crazy postcodes that's almost another country....

Yeh, I went through envirofone and was offered £255 but didn't realise we had an internal advertising board on our intranet and within 30seconds of putting an advert on I got a reply saying name my price. I offered him £350, this was based on what people were bidding for the same spec on ebay, no reply though....feel I went a little high but I want as much money back as possible given I went for the 6s 64gb this time round!

Picking mine up from my local EE store 8am Friday. They have just received them but obviously cannot release them until Friday. Sod waiting in or queuing up as have a very busy day. Wife is having her 20 week scan. What she doesn't know is I've ordered her 1 as well, she currently has a 5C that is slowly on its way out, battery only last about 6 hours.

Yes the resale prices of the iPhone 6 have really dropped since the 6s was announced (obviously) I'm wondering what the best way is to go about selling my 64gb iPhone 6 for maximum bucks!! It is completely unmarked, been a very durable phone with only a screen protector on and never in a case. But I'll worry about this once I get my hands on the 6s! If for any reason I do not like the 6s then the 6 will stay with me until the 7 gets released! :)
 
Anyone else signed up for UPS My Choice? I'm not holding out too much hope it'll actually work as it utterly failed to advise me of my watch delivery last time, though it'd be interesting to see if anyone else gets a heads up from them.

Sold the exact phone on eBay 6 days ago. I got bids upto £410 and the buyer paid me £400 for cash collection. Even without the cash collection I would of got about £360 after eBay fees

Signed up to UPS to My Choice. Thinking about using it to deliver to another location so I can just pick up when I'm available. Heard it's not very reliable and its best to ring them to confirm.

Aw new iPhone and fingers crossed for a good scan. What a day for you. Hope it all goes to plan.

I spoke to the people in the Apple Store today, they said I can't change my order (which I already knew) but that if there is walk in stock of it available then I can change it for one those instead. He said that there is no garuantee that stick will be available, but since my reservation is at 8:00 then I will have a better chance than most.

I saw the new rose gold dock, it is certainly more of a copper colour.

That's nice besides having a decent camera phone will be great for capturing spontaneous baby pics! I told a colleague just before she was due to go on mat leave that she needed to upgrade from her ancient iPhone - she came in the following day with a new iPhone! Apparently the impending baby excuse was just the justification she needed!
