My bank does insurance for a fee, i think most banks offer insurance, car breakdown, travel insurance etc.

I know a guy who had a 5s and it was insured by his bank. He lost it and claimed. £35 fee and got a £499 cheque instead of a replacement. He added £40 and got himself a 6 instead.

So banks do offer insurance too but only up to £600 max claim.
Thanks. I have the option of the "tech pack" with Barclays, which is increasing to £9.50/month from November. Covers two phones up to £1000 and then £1,500 for other gadgets. Not bad if you want everything to have some sort of insurance I guess, although it seems like third party for just the iPhone could be a bit cheaper.

Oh it's that time of year again already. My poor credit card is going to be facing meltdown tomorrow!
Hahaha yes i know

Im going bed tonight with my wallet and card beside me. Ipad fully charged and the app ready on the home screen.

Bring on 8:01am

Is this the first time the networks haven't announce their pricing before preorders start?

This is ridiculous, we need to scour for the best deal knowing that every second that goes by makes it more likely launch day stock will sell out.

Do you have to give the phone back after 12 months??

I can't see any mention of it but I'd assume you'd have to?

Yes if you want a new iPhone you have to 'trade in' the old one. OR you keep it and don't get a new one.

Mine (TSB) has an excess of £100 for iPhones :( but covers up to a maximum if £2000 retail value for loss, theft, damage or breakdown including faults along with another £250 for lost, stolen or damaged at the same time (e.g.cases, headphones).
I claimed on the policy when I damaged my 3gs (the excess was lower at the time thankfully) and they didn't have any replacements in stock so I too got a cheque so waited a few weeks and got the 4 when it was launched.

Same! I'm coming from a black Nexus 4 and think the silver looks great (hey, it looks like how Apple devices used to look!) - and in the sun it won't get super hot! But I'm worried I won't like the white round the front edge like people seem to be saying.

Worried for the same reasons! I've always had a black iPhone... 3GS, 4S, 5, 6... Always had a black one. Felt like its time for a change but the white face is brighter, which is good and bad i think. Black is a safe option, because it blends the borders in differently. But part of me feels like getting something different. I love the midnight blue case with the white though i think it looks great.

HSBC offer insurance aspects, which includes car breakdown, travel insurance and mobile phone cover for one device only or two if its joint.

I get applecare plus anyway, but insure with my bank only to use the theft or loss.

I personally prefer apple to replace my device with a new one, insurance replacements might not be reliable could lock to first sim which would be a nightmare.

Plus i hand my phone to my mrs anyway so with AC+ i know were covered.

You pay off the handset part of your tariff e.g 25 p/m for the last 12 months which is 300 pounds and the device is then yours. Normally you just sell the device to pay to exit the contract and start a new.

With these tariffs I think you keep the device, but I'm not sure... Maybe worth a chat with live chat to confirm

OooOoo the EE online store is down. I really want to upgrade quickly, but I'm thinking an expensive call from abroad (I'm on holiday p) might be necessary. I want the best deal and as an EE/Tmobile customer that recently discovered I'd been overcharged for the past 6 months on my contract for services I didn't purchase / use, I want some reimbursements and a good deal on my new 6s plus ;)

I'm going to have to compare all of the insurance policies and work out what's best once I have the phone I think!

Here's to hoping the app works okay tomorrow!

Anyone upgraded through o2 on first day (for release day) before? Just trying to gauge how disappointed I might be trying to get through to speak to someone and order for the 25th?
Me last year, don't bother, your best of queuing outside a store to pre-order instead. I gave up at 11 last year and went to a store, I got my phone on launch day. The key is to not use a city centre store, use one that has less customers.

Anyone know whether the Apple installment payment options will be available when preordering through the app/website?

US only :(

Unless you mean the PayPal finance, which I believe is website only but is available at preorder.

The only phone i got from a store on launch day was the iPhone 3G. The time when iPhones were a little less popular, i simply walked in O2 and walked out with one on launch day there were about 3 people in queue. Lol

I think I've got JUST enough cases.

99p each, couldn't resist that. Will throw spares at friends, haha.

Ahh the good old days! I remember that too - I believe back then we all had unlimited data and the upgrade to the 3G was £99, you kept the iPhone 2G and same monthly payment!

Off to bed now. Getting my alarm set for 7:30 so I can scour the Internet to see the best deals before pre-order then head over to apples website to destroy my CMD-R buttons

Oh God. Now I'm scared.

Having never pre ordered online, can I ask what the link to use is - the general Apple site, or one for the particular store that you pick up from?

Miss them old days cheap contracts £35 on O2 24 months. Now so expensive

I have a Three sim only plan @ £15/pm. Will buy the iPhone 64GB 6S and it works out £55/pm over 12 months through apple finance. That's £70/pm with no up-front cost and for only 12 months and not 24. Plus I get unlimited 4G data with tethering, 5000 mins and 5000 texts.

Best way
