The thing I find funny is that o2 are offering "O2 is offering free damage & breakdown cover which replaces the manufacturer’s warranty when it expires and ensures customers are fully covered for two years." then on the next paragraph about cracked screens and making claims "Customers will only need to pay a £55 excess for each claim." So i'm assuming it's not free cover?

Yep, it's not uni days you just show them your uni ID instore. Link here: http://www.o2.co.uk/studentoffer

Devices excluded at the moment: Galaxy S6 Edge and Edge Plus
BUT iPhone 6S and the Plus will be added to this lift and won't be unexcluded until around next year.

I know plus the point is to enable people to upgrade after 12 months so why 2 year cover less important. I can't imagine anyone bothering with that tariff is they aren't going to upgrade in 12 months time.

Yep, totally agr

Oh, so no student discount then?

I'll be waiting for my usual zagg invisible shield :) and also getting a back protector as I'm going for Rose gold
Yes clear back protectors are great to keep the original iPhone look and also protect it from scratches

LOL

O2 say these are great value tariffs. I say they are arse raping us.

They have significantly better deals in the US.

I fully expect the other networks to be just as much of a rip off tomorrow.

Is this really significantly worse than deals in the US? All the deals I have seen in the US are worse than this, and generally they pay a lot more for data.

Why dont you do what I'm doing? I like the space grey colour - its a nice 'manly' and 'neutral' colour but the Home button/touch id sensor doesnt have a shiny outline like the white/gold ones?

So, I am going to go for the Gold purely on that basis , and also as Ive never owned a Gold iPhone as the last one I had was an iPhone 5.

Silly reasoning, but makes sense to me :)

Cant do it... Gold iPhone!? It just looks so tacky in my opinion. The rose gold is even worse. Why can't they make more black or dark colours? Apple is really annoying like that... Loved the original 5 and the slate black colour.

Also, i don't think i would use the 4k video. Im not sure but i don't have any 4k devices to play it back on... Suppose it would look good on my 15" RMBP, but... Hardly ever take videos anyway.

Cant wait for pre-order. Going to make the order like do with all products but if there is a queue event then ill be participating as usual. Everyone decided what GB and colour?

Just ordered one of the new space grey iPhone stand from the Apple site. Quite expensive at £39 but looks good.

Does anyone know if Apple will have any 6s or 6s+ in the Apple stores as demo units before the 25th?

I'll be ordering mine in the morning, but it would be nice to pop into a store to see how pink the rose gold is in person!

Not likely. apple typically doesn't put out demo units until the day of launch.

guys i have a question - if i preorder tmorrow but im not in the country from 23rd until 7th october, will the delivery company keep it at their depot for me? if so how long for? what would you do? buy it later? argh i hate this! why didnt they deliver 1 week after preorders like last year!

Not likely. The most they hold it for is a week I believe then they send it back to the retailer.

Yep, they always exclude apple devices for at least 6 months. Once O2 announce that the devices have been lifted you can add the discount on so the discount applies for your remaining months :)

Ah okay, so will just have to pay the 'normal' price for 6 months or until its removed from the excluded list? Then we have what 28 days to apply the discount?

Been looking at few online colour choice surveys & it looks like Rose Gold is going to be a very popular choice so that's something to keep in mind when ordering tomorrow.

Yes, normal price until it's removed. 6 months was a bit generous, it's normally removed from the list around January time :)

If you're on the NHS I believe you can get the O2 open code which is essentially the same thing but you don't have to be a student. Some work places offer this outside the NHS, but I am not completely sure.

Brilliant, cheers for that. I'm guessing will have to keep checking the small print on bottom of the discount page, or will we get a email (*laughs*) highly unlikely..

I don't know which colour!! Arg - indecisive! Mrs is going with Rose gold... I had a gold 6+ - toss up between space grey or silver.
