I'm finding battery life on the 6s really impressive, it's noticeably better than my 6 was.

Looking at better than 10 hours use and 36 hours standby by the end of today...

O2 recycle all the way.. They received my phone at 7:50am and they had processed by 10:50am, money in my bank by 2pm, all on the same day! And they price matched phone xchange. Awesome service!

Now that is awesome.

Can I make a reservation for in store pickup for my friend and then have him buy the phone when we turn up at the Apple Store?

Yes, most of the time they just ask for the name the reservation is in, they get the phone and you/he pays and they ask for an email address to send the receipt to.

Just thought I'd provide an update (not that many care now its Monday) but I'm very happy with the service from mobiles.co.uk! I upgraded through them on the 15th September to an iPhone 6S+ 64GB Space Grey and was quoted a 3rd October delivery date, despite places like Apple and O2 having 3-4 week quotes, I was late with my preorder because I had decided to cancel my O2 order for my 6S because I decided I wanted a bigger screen and mobiles.co.uk had better upgrade deals (although I miss out on O2 refresh but hey ho).

As launch day came I was missing out on all the fun but knew I only had a week to wait and that it was no one else's fault but myself for being indecisive! However this evening at around 7:30pm I got a text from O2 saying my tariff had been successfully changed, confused, I checked my email to find that it had been dispatched and would be delivered by DPD between 8:30am and 12pm with a 1 hour delivery slot being sent to me in the morning! Very impressed that it's coming so early, especially after I ordered so late and its a model that is considerably difficult to come across!

Also means I don't have to go without a phone as mine was due to be sent off to envirofone tomorrow, leaving me with a crappy backup phone for a few days, but not anymore! I definitely recommend mobiles.co.uk if you're looking to take out a contract or upgrade (they're owned by Dixons Carphone if anyone was wondering, confused as to why they haven't merged them with Carphone Warehouse tbh?)

Get £15 off your upfront fee with UPGRADE15 at checkout in case anyone was thinking of using them! :p

Anyone able to shed any light on stock replenishment in Apple Stores at the moment?

The reservations go live at 6am, but do stores get deliveries during the day and then sell them to walk-ins? (In which case, if I can't get a reservation, it might still be worth popping in.)

Apple never usually say exactly but I was told by an ex-manager for the 6 at least is that they get deliveries in the morning or near store closing. For the reservations, they are never normally delivered mid-day.

Right, so they get deliveries and sell to walk-ins immediately when they arrive?

Or do they keep the deliveries in stock for the reservations to go live the following morning?

The delivery is what goes up for reservation, it's only if someone doesn't pick up a reservation or the delivery is more than reservations that they sell to walk ins. You are better off trying to reserve.

Light usage for me today with being at work and I'm still at 77% now, The 6s maybe have a smaller battery compared to other competing phones but its the iOS and internals that make the phone much more power efficient and it effectively shuts down in standby mode. As a comparison my previous Galaxy S4 would of just about died by now with a similar amount of use today but maybe that's a 2 year old phone showing its age but even when I first had that phone it was no where near as good as the 6s' battery life. The iPhone 6s beats my old Galaxy S4 by 2.5 hours in the battery test.

I agree with some comments, There is a lot more to come from 3D touch in the future... And most importantly I will be keeping this phone for certain. It's not being returned to apple, It's not being sold to CEX and I'm not going to get a Galaxy S6/Edge now (I nearly bought the edge 2 months ago). Apple never put the best parts into a phone they just concentrate on optimization and efficiency and making things work well and this is what I want in a device. The way I use a mobile phone everything seems to be better for me on a iPhone rather than a Android device.

You can call the Store number and check stock. I called yesterday lunchtime and went to the store an hour later to buy a 6S 64Gb. Beats reserving and waiting.

Looks like I have the first casualty. My iPhone 6s Plus refuses to wake up (yes it's charged) and the touch id is constantly warm. Off to see Apple tonight...annoying.

That is annoying; however I find Apple are (usually) really good in replacing a handset. I had a dodgy iPhone 4S (through T-Mobile) and whilst T-Mobile didn't want to know Apple provided excellent customer service.

Has anyone who upgraded through Vodafone (directly) had their cards charged yet? My credit card still hasn't been billed.

No luck again this morning at 6 for a Rose Gold 128gb Plus!

It's worth checking throughout the morning as stock will show up as stores get it and scan it in - for example, there were no 6S Plus 64GB SG in stock at 6am but they're now showing up in Newcastle.

That said, the Rose Golds are definitely more elusive than other models. Good luck with your hunting!
