For those who are still experiencing verification failed error message, I found a solution that worked for me from Reddit.

I turned off wifi and connected to my old phone’s hotspot which fixed the issue. I imagine 5g may work as well.

Might be asking the obvious here but how do you turn WiFi off? I’m on the iCloud sign in screen getting this error message, but unable to pull down from the control centre etc to turn WiFi off

How are the insides of the cases? Seen a couple of folk complaining that the interior is rough, to the extent that they are worried about it scratching the phone.

It’s rougher than microfibre, but I can’t see it scratching the phone.

You don't need to. I absolutely love it more than I thought I would now i've held it.

as for battery tech, the battery is fine so not sure what you're referencing to there.

I agree its lovely to hold but not sure about the camera and slightly less battery

There isn't many times I need the big battery of the 17 Pro as I'm always near a charger so I think the Air would be perfect for 99% of my needs. The killer for me was the camera, I played around with it today in the shop and it shocked me how backwards it was compared to the 17 Pro in everything.

But the screen size and overall size of the air is impressive. Its hard one but I had to choose one phone and it wasn't the air

Christmas really has come early. I'm a huge fan of the orange! I switched from a launch day Ultra 2 to the black Ultra 3 this year so I'm also looking forward to a change there.

I have the Black Satin Ultra 2 and it goes really well with the subtle orange button.

Which is why I’ve pushed the boat out this year. I’ve done something out of the ordinary and ordered orange colour, I’ve always been a dark, but not this year!

Hinckley seems to be stop 1 from Distribution and i do wonder how accurate that error is. I reckon they are at delivery depots but not been scanned in. My tracker below.

Has anyone been successful in doing a transfer from another iPhone? Failed three times now and have had to factory reset. Am I best trying to set up from an iCloud back up instead?

Full 1Gbit download from my router with the iPhone air N1 chip. Router is a long way away downstairs. Impressive. iPhone 13 Pro Max only used to get 350mbit.

One of the Chinese phones you can get over here that was released earlier this year had the exact same issue with one of its cameras. Cannot remember the model now but there were loads of reviews on Amazon complaining about it. No idea if people ever got it resolved.

Just set up as a new phone, sign into iCloud without restoring backup and then download the apps you need etc. I promise you it's a much better experience than restoring from a backup.

Yeah, I get it’s probably crazy with this on top of all the other deliveries but a message when it was clear it’s not happening today rather than us having to contact them would be nice.

After dutifully ordering my iPhone 17 Pro Max on pre-order day and buying two relatively expensive, premium screen protectors I have bitten the bullet and just ordered an Phone Air.

As others have mentioned, it's giving me iPhone X vibes and I have been persuaded by various sexy impressions videos. I am excited. I'll send the Pro back to Apple when it gets here.

If anyone wants to buy an 17 Pro Max screen protector, please PM me. I have one of these arriving soon. It's an anti-reflective protector so should retain the anti-reflectiveness of the new screens.

I got an iPhone X on launch and it was probably the worse iPhone I’ve ever owned. It’s the only iPhone where the screen gave me persistent headaches. Yeah it looked nice but I found it unusable.

That would absolutely suck for me, I have over 13,000 photos/videos on mine that I like to keep stored on it, and all music etc….sod that. I think 10+ years ago I used to think it was better starting as new but since then I think it’s been fine every time I’ve done it.

The AirPods Pro 3 are also fantastic. Noise cancellation much better, the fit is noticeably better, sound quality improved and max volume even higher.

Between this and the jaw droppingly beautiful iPhone Air, I am one very happy bunny today.

Ordered the Air MagSafe battery which comes tomorrow, will keep it in my bag or coat pocket and use if needed on longer days.

Hope everyone is happy with their new toy(s) today. It’s been so much fun in the thread this year. 🫶🏼
