I'm Vodafone and converted it to esim earlier in the year as I heard about the air possibly being only eSim so was getting ready early😅 In the end I've gone with the 17PM as I'd miss the extra cameras. I still have the email QR code from then so I suppose I have a fall back but what option should I pick when setting up new phone? The set up from old or from iCloud back up to make sure it transfers over?
Vodafone supports Quick Transfer, so you can use this method

Curious what other people do with E-Sim phones when selling on, if you don't already have the new phone yet..

Can you just factory reset your phone, sell and when setting up the new one port your number..when it arrives on Friday? 🤔

Or do you need the new phone beside the old one, then you can sell?
Yeah you don't need the new one to sell it you can just remove the e-Sim on the settings and factory reset.

Wow, aside from the 2tb for the Pro & Pro
Max, delivery time is nearing Oct.

The Air however, seems still a lot of launch day delivery.

Now that I ordered mine, my partner wants to buy the Air lol, even though she said she is very happy with her 16Pm

got an instore pickup for 19th Sept for a deep blue 17Pro ordered at 16:50! some decent man maths working out if I held onto my 15 for another year it'd drop £100 in value vs 12 months of interest fee payments and perhaps trade in early if the foldable looks any good based on the current 16PM being worth £160 more than my 15PM!

When you fully reset the phone it removes the eSIM. But if you have the new phone you can port it straight over the new one.
You can also ask your provider to send a new code for an eSIM and when you activate that, it cancels any others.

It literally took 2–3 minutes for delivery dates to slip back to October. I was there at 1 PM sharp with the Orange Pro Max saved since last night, and I still couldn’t get the 19th delivery. The app and Apple’s system made me re-enter billing info, and by the time I did that (30 seconds), the 19th window was gone.It says 29Th Sep-6Th October now.

256 orange pro max just ordered via ee - delivery on 19th so it seems if you order via network theres no rush for that date

You may need to just do what I did and ring up, mate.

The website/app is a torturous, senseless cycle of torment and I really am not sure you're going to get far quickly that way. At least on the phone they are able to complete the order.
I give up, giving them a call.

Got loads of stock available in Leeds for launch day. It will sell imo in coming days.
It will for sure, just not as fast how the PM is selling, I think a lot of people are scared to gimbal with the Air and holding back.

In other note, I bought the Gold Air for my partner just a min ago, she wants to see if she’ll like it, arriving in launch day

I went for the 256gb space black. The Pro and air look nice my aim to replace my spare iPhone with the air bit the Pro doesn’t offer value for money £300 more and not too much different.

Problem is the next update is for fold and pro and I don’t fancy the side Dynamic Island. The standard model has to go a year and a half without an update so my dilemma is more what to buy after the iPhone 17?

That's the problem. If you don't travel eSIM's are fine. I have an EE as an eSIM as it's my main country of residence, but if something happened to my phone overseas, with an eSIM there are more possibilities to be screwed.
International esims are easy to purchase.
