I started my order for my 17 PM as soon as the store opened.
I had preordered with the Barclays finance and I was able to book for Apple Store collection at 18:30. I will be working during the day on Friday.
I then tried to order a 17 for my sister. At first, it allowed me to select for collection at 18:30 again, but when I then selected to pay, there was a message saying that the option to collect at store was now not available. Just seconds earlier, there were time slots available as early as 8:45.
The option for delivery on Friday was available, so I selected this option.

Perhaps some weird rule implemented to only allow one collection spot per person on launch day to keep things running smooth.

Does seem odd though.

My case has gone to preparing to ship, my phone is still processing. If I remember last time I did this for 15PM it changed to preparing to ship overnight the Friday then nothing more until the Thursday

Exactly.

The phone needs to be connected to internet to download the eSim after scanning the code
I wasn’t aware of that, apologies.

I’d suggest using the WiFi in the apple store when collecting the phone or the WiFi in the mobile provider store in the initial set up. If that’s really not an option there must be some source of free WiFi in reasonable distance to connect to momentarily to get the initial activation done.

17 Pro in Silver ordered along with Ultra 3 and the new AirPods 2 (Trafford Centre Manchester), I selected the pickup at the store at 8.00 and 10 seconds later when I wanted to pay for it, delivery switched without any warning to 'Post only'. So I went back to select another window and the first available was 15.00 :)......so in about 1 minutes all the 15min slots from 8.00 to 15.00 on the 19th were already taken :))))

Wondered if anyone could advise. I’m going from 15 Pro to iPhone air. Pre ordered today and coming next Friday. I am doing apple trade in too though with my old 15 Pro and assuming the box will arrive in the next few days to send off. I was planning on using my old iPhone X for a few days til the Air arrives. With it being e sim (I’m with Vodafone) what’s the best way for me to do it? I’ll be at home with WiFi next Friday when the Air arrives if that helps.

Glad i went for delivery. I wanted to do pick up but with three separate pre orders I wasn’t willing to risk it.

Chickened out and just went straight for delivery.

You get 14 days to send it in. Don't worry, no immediate rush.

Also doing apple trade in, the packaging isn't sent until the new phone is shipped and even then you have 2 weeks I think. I would just continue with current phone, do the transfer of esim when new one arrives then get old one ready for send off.

Or at least that's what I'm hoping to do, I'm away from next weekend to watch the Ryder cup and won't be back to send my old one back until the 29th at the earliest😬

Well that's a screw up. I ordered the 17 Pro and a case today. Picked 20th to collect it as I'm busy on 19th. About an hour later I get an email from Apple saying the case is ready for collection and I need to pick it up within 7 days (by the end of the 19th, the day before I get the phone). Grrrrr. So got it on the way past earlier.

So I've got a case already and no phone! 🤦‍♂️

Better late than never, been a hectic day. Was waiting patiently on multiple devices before 1pm, 1pm came and keeps telling me to wait. Finally got in at around 1.22pm. Laptop loaded first, followed by iPad. Ordered on iPad. Unfortunately delivery is 24th - 29th September. Missed launch day 😔. Hopefully comes earlier.

Phone: iPhone 17 Pro Max
Colour: Cosmic Orange
Storage: 256GB
Order Status: Processing

I was in the same situation as you previously and always used EE but now with their plan changes I would recommend switching in the future to buying via Apple on Barclays 24 months interest free or iPhone Upgrade program. Then using EE sim only.

EE now charge more for the phone than Apple. In your screenshot EE will make you pay £1,192.32 for the phone versus £1099 from Apple, even if you upgrade you have to clear the balance. The friends and family applies only to the SIM plan so you will get the exact same £18.50 per month saving on EE Sim only.

You would be paying £45.79 a month through Apple and then £18.50 for the EE sim only plan. £64.29 total so £7.18 a month saving.

Also for anyone without friends and family discounts, the plans offered on pay monthly with phone + sim seem to have no deals (might be different for you) whereas doing SIM only via the upgrade path you get some good deals (same as brand new customer). I’ve saved £230 on my 17PM 512GB for the next year versus doing the phone with EE.

I went for Deep Blue in the end, ordered at 1:01PM using the usual force close app and reopen a million times method. I did not wait on the screen it told you to wait on 😅

Has anyone’s money left their account yet? (Pending?)…..mine hasn’t and I thought it usually is taken by the end of the day?!?
