Just got my new case and screen protectors!

Is the 17 Pro Max thicker than the 15 Pro Max? This case feels chunky!

EDIT: yeah i looked it up the 17 Pro Max is 8.8mm thick and the 15 + 16 Pro Max is 8.3mm

:D
This is my worry I’ve a 15pm just now, not particularly looking forward to having a chunkier and slightly heavier replacement for it.

The problem is if you do the apple upgrade you have to wipe your old phone before they give you the new phone. To transfer an EE eSIM the process has to send a security text to the old phone with the eSIM first, which you obviously no longer have because you just wiped it!
That’s why I am going to the Apple Store to pick up my phone and trade my current phone in with them because last year they let me keep my phone whilst I transferred everything to the new phone and then they completed the sale. So hopefully I’ll be able to do the same this year and just transfer everything over before giving them my old phone.

So strangely Apple seem to have moved my store pick up time for my phone from 9am to 9.15. It may be because I’m due to pick up my ultra three and AirPods Pro 3’s at 9am. I’m sure they will let me have all three at the same time as I will set all three up whilst I am in the store.

Sadly the glitch remains on the iUP pages for people who are joining rather than upgrading mid-way, so looks like it’ll be a store visit on launch day to see if they have walk in stock! 🤞🏼

Does it cost to return products to Apple Store online? I already ordered and looks like it’s too late to cancel but will get the Amazon one if the return postage works out ok.

No. Free returns

Start a return within 14 days and then you another 14 days to return it.

Wait till your Amazon order comes in. Compare both and keep cleanest quality one. Send the other back to Apple.

Its a UPS label and you can even arrange collection.

I was in the same situation as you previously and always used EE but now with their plan changes I would recommend switching in the future to buying via Apple on Barclays 24 months interest free or iPhone Upgrade program. Then using EE sim only.

EE now charge more for the phone than Apple. In your screenshot EE will make you pay £1,192.32 for the phone versus £1099 from Apple, even if you upgrade you have to clear the balance. The friends and family applies only to the SIM plan so you will get the exact same £18.50 per month saving on EE Sim only.

You would be paying £45.79 a month through Apple and then £18.50 for the EE sim only plan. £64.29 total so £7.18 a month saving.

Also for anyone without friends and family discounts, the plans offered on pay monthly with phone + sim seem to have no deals (might be different for you) whereas doing SIM only via the upgrade path you get some good deals (same as brand new customer). I’ve saved £230 on my 17PM 512GB for the next year versus doing the phone with EE.

Yup. You are absolutely correct and that is the very reason I stopped upgrading with them since last year.

I get iPhone directly from Apple and Full Works plan from EE with F&F.

If you trade in your iPhone on finance to Apple, they close the loan for you.

So what on Earth is the point in the Upgrade Programme 🤷
guarantees and comfort. Its more expensive the last couple of times I looked at it - but there is no guarantee on trade in prices unlike upgrade program. I was put off as they compress the payments over 20 months and upsell the applecare level. Since then I’ve rolled monthly payments 0% 24 months nice and simple, and trading in. Applecare I do monthly afterwards so its separate

ordered an anker nano charger. someone measured the apple magsafe at around 7.5mm which is about what the nano is, so not much difference in thickness. The nano hopefully working on my wifes phone means its more flexible too - and will work on a future phone in case I go back to pro later after missing the tele lens.

They didn’t for me, did last year. Barclays instead have sent me bank details to pay off the balance, I was about to do it last night but gonna wait for my cosmic beauty to arrive

Thinking of ordering this for my 17 Pro deep blue. https://torraslife.com/products/ostand-q3-silicone-for-iphone-17-pro?variant=43523946348586
Anyone used one before and if so was it any good?
I had the air version arrive yesterday
TORRAS Ostand Q3 Air for iPhone 17 Pro Case with Real Airbags, Military Grade Protective | Fit for MagSafe for iPhone 17 Pro cover with Camera Control | Shockproof & Stylish Navy Blue https://amzn.eu/d/6eI75o3
I’m really impressed by the quality of it. The stand/ring has a really study feel too it and there’s no annoying moulding lines (I find them really irritating when what would otherwise be a smooth tactile case has a tiny bump in it. Just wish they still did the red colour they had for the 16.
Only thing that put me off the silicone version was it looks a bit thicker, but that might just be the perspective of the shots?

Edit: photos from my iPad mini make it look a bit washed out compared to what it’s like in real life

All networks are the same. Vodafone has the device cost for the 512 pro max as £1518 compared to £1399 from apple.

A timely post. But other than the stand, what's your take on the difference with the alternative (less expensive) version?

This is on the Apple upgrade program?

Thanks for the advice. I have a clear kickstand version for my 15 PM but it feels “plasticky” which is why I am considering the silicone version. How does the Air feel?

What’s the fastest way to transfer data to a new iPhone. I normally restore from an iCloud backup but that’s pretty slow. Is the transfer data mechanism better? Or backing up to a Mac and restoring from there
