They typically have some stock available for walk-in customers on the day but it’s not guaranteed obviously, you’ll need to queue and they might not have your preferred colour or capacity left. The other thing you can try is checking on the web / app each day (after the launch day, you won’t see anything if you try this before the 19th) just after 6am: IIRC from previous years some stock will appear then that can be reserved for in-store pickup, either new stock they’ve got in or from orders people have cancelled.

My phones on processing, however my watch is preparing for shipping since 3 days.

Just FYI this happens every year and never have Apple cancelled an ordered for a failed payment.
Iirc they give you a chance to resolve it first. I'm collecting Friday, suspect they won't take the money until Thursday therefore.
Early reminder too for the UK - they ship to hubs (syncreon technology unless anything changed) who then ship out to us. Therefore often it doesn't change to "shipped" with tracking details until late Thursday (8pm last year for me I think).
Also - with DPD, no guarantee you can get it upgraded to early delivery. Apple used to put blocks on that (it's an option for DPD). I remember my delivery driver encountering traffic and not bothering to come, saying attempted delivery with a black picture. I phoned DPD to say wtf and they apologised and said it was clear what they did. They then tried to promote me for a free Saturday morning delivery before apologising and saying apple doesn't allow that (even though it was a day late now due to the fuss).

looking for a decent cover the the 17PM. I am coming from a 16Pro with a Torras with a stand at the bottom which I must admit I really like. I have ordered the exact same again, but also ordered the Tech Woven in Blue (deliver from Amazon late September) and the beats in blue. So many nice covers...
Any suggestions or recommendations? Also, is that kickstand on the beats any good?

I got sent a couple of Torras cases direct from them, but I’m not getting the Pro models this year. Not sure why they randomly sent them free of charge to be honest.
Mines still on processing too. Still saying delivers by 19th Sept though. Never had any issues with delivery slipping and looks like there are others in the same boat too.

I like that colour, but yet to see how it looks with the orange phone in it, wondering how orange and the bluey green frosted back will work together.

Bit later to the party here. Also in the iPhone 17 Pro Max 256gb Cosmic Orange club here. Ordered around ~13:04 Friday.
No issues ordered after closing/opening the Apple Store app a few times (only minor non-issue was that I set-up the pre-order using ApplePay and it ended up just using the standard card payment path which was saved so just required the 3 digit security code and a Virgin Money app approval notification).
Order changed to preparing to dispatch yesterday along with my card being fully charged.
Case wise - ordered both the Apple Sienna case and the Torro Orange leather case. The Apple one has a nice grippy feel whereas the Torro one is much smoother.
Screen protector - Torras screen protector, which is what I use on my 15 Pro Max. Like the smooth curved edges of those compared to other glass screen protectors.

Could be just the pre-authorisation which has now dropped off and will change to a full payment once the iPhone dispatches later next week. I've seen the that happen before with iPhone pre-orders.
