Yes, but iPhone payments is what the poster I was replying to was asking about. I should’ve quoted them really, but didn’t bother at the time. :)

Maybe I should’ve quoted the post above yours, I was replying to both really.

I got on the upgrade programme with a 64GB iPhone 8+ after speaking to a few Apple employees at their Covent Garden store on launch day. I went to take a look at the new devices with the idea to wait for the iPhone X.

To my surprise, I was advised to get on the programme now, exchange twice and a final third time (for the X); Unsure this was even possible, I asked two other people at the store to confirm that's something they'd be willing to do.

Upon getting the phone, I rang up Barclays Partner Finance, who told me that I had been misled into upgrading as I would need to pass a credit check after each and every exchange- even if it's the same model/colour/size.

I went back to the store yesterday and after speaking to the floor manager I got the following offer: return the i8+ and buy an iPhone SE that I can return in 4-5 weeks when the X comes out. Finally, to further sweeten the deal, I got a free iPhone X case. Awesome customer service!

The app didn’t fare better last year, website was online at 8.01 but the app didn’t come live until 8.04.
By the time I could get my details in my iPhone 7 Plus jet black was well out on delivery.
I was not happy, I later changed my order to Matt black and got my new phone 10 days after launch.
I’m hoping we can use the upgrade program on the website as well, I’ll Get the wife on one and me on the other!

Isn’t iPhone payments different to the iPhone upgrade program?

I think it’ll be worse this year as if on the upgrade programme you’ll have more buttons to press. Select iPhone, colour, size then go through upgrade options then pick a time to collect etc. Might be better buying one for delivery then sorting out the upgrade programme.
