I returned my Xs because wifi issue, connecting and disconnecting, that with 2.4GHz. Almost impossible to connect to 5GHz unless you were very close to the router.

I will wait an see if problems get fixed.

I just got off the phone with Apple support about the Wi-Fi issue. She said I should return my phone.

Did your new phone fix the issue?

Here is a Speedtest in the car so clearly it’s fine not just at home and at work

I had an XS Max, the network was terrible but the wifi was great. Found it too large so switched to an XS and now the network is fine but the wifi is atrocious. Third time lucky perhaps.

I thought my Xs max was OK until my trip to wales at the weekend.
In Brecon at several places my XS max had zero signal but my huwawei P10 on the same network (three) had 2 bars and worked fine.

Considering the iPhone cost 5X the huwawei that’s a bit of a kick in the teeth.

Im from Spain, my Xs always is looking for signal.. return to X 2017 and just skip this gen. FCC tolds clearly that the antennas in this new iPhones are bad, poor signal.. so.. take an X cheaper and enjoy.

I think we are thinking about an issue that is quite clear. The software can be guilty in a certain way, say 10%, because there are terminals before the Xs that suffer from bad data and Wi-Fi connection, but if we read the FCC technical report when evaluating the terminal, we know that it clearly says that the signal from the antennas is weak, worse than in previous models .. If the authority that is in charge of testing and certifying the devices already says it, more clear water. That there are devices that apparently work well? It is possible, of course, but it will depend on the area, the operator, the conditions ... it's like a 50-hp car, it should not run very much ... but on good asphalt, downhill, and without traffic ... until it looks like it's going good and runs a lot. I think that who has the X, should not take the Xs .. is more, I think anyone who thinks of a new iphone, even though the new Xs have good benefits, just to avoid having these problems and save some dollars, the X is still the best option right now.

I was with three and got an XS max on launch day.

Where I work the reception wasn’t the best but my X could be used most of the time, since upgrading it was really bad, seemed to really struggle!

I noticed more connection problems and unreliability out and about too.

I’ve since moved to EE and it’s been fab, no complaints whatsoever!

I'm with BT and have had my Max since launch. My previous phone was an X (now my son's) and we have several other recent iPhones in our family (including an 8 Plus and XR). I am not having any connection problems. I don't doubt what some are suggesting that the antenna in the Max may not be as powerful as other phones, but even in my home where the signal is spotty on all of our phones, the Max is more than good enough. Maybe I have just gotten lucky?

I'm based in Wales and had to return my iphone Xs and go back to my iphone 8 plus.
Did try an exchange with another iphone Xs but no signal at all in certain areas. On EE network

Hi all, I’m after some advice, I have had my Xs since launch day (EE network UK) and I have just watched my iPhone fail in call, I had 2 bars and made a call, after 5 mins or so the call just cut off, as soon as this happened I looked at my screen, the signal had gone completely and then 4 bars showed up and I was able to make a call again.

So this is what I think happened: I walked my kid to school and my Xs will change masts, when I get home it stays on that mast with 2 bars, then during my call it swapped masts to the closest one that gave me full bars, but during swapping it lost all signal as it changed, not sure why, isn’t mast swapping meant to be seamless?

What should I do? I have reset network settings a few weeks ago once i left the 12.1 beta and went onto the final release, shall I wait to see if Apple sort it or visit the Apple store?

Thanks,
Adam.

What should I do?
Precisely nothing unless it keeps happening - if it was a one-off there are loads of possible reasons for a dropped call, could have been a glitch with the tower or some other part of the carrier's network for example. If it becomes a repeated thing then I'd look into it for sure.

Thanks, it’s happned twice so far, same routine too, 2 bars then swapped towers and lost all cellular connectivity as it switched, the first time was about a week ago, but I wasn’t making a call that time I was browsing web and watched it drop all bars and change from 2 then to 4 bars after the signal going completely.

Thanks,
Adam.

On Vodafone IE no issues on my max, same good reception as on my Note 9 and a family members XR.
