iPod touch UK order status thread

Ordered 9th and still on prepared for shipping.
funny how you ordered on the 10th mkstevo and yours has shipped.
 
I was in Apple Arndale today, they said they were having some more in over the weekend. I had a play on the ipod touchs that they had in though...made me want one even more! :D
 
Were all too polite, we'd just murmur quietly about how unfair it is, call the AppleCare hotline, apologise to them for thinking our screen is faulty and ask for another ;)
 
So, what do you guys reckon for the delivery.

Personally, I'm guessing Tuesday/Monday (but, I feel tues is most likely). Though, I would LOVE Saturday, but, I think that is pretty much impossible.

Saturday is out im sure, there coming from china, tuesday is a good bet.
 
Official estimate is Thursday/Friday.... given that they shipped a day early (sort of) I reckon Wednesday/Thursday. I won't complain if it arrives on Tuesday though, I'm usually in a bad mood on Tuesdays (just could never get the hang of them) so I'll welcome being cheered up :D
 
My guess is that they'll arrive saturday, if not iam going down to Apple store in regent st. and let them have it:mad:

Why? The estimate says week on friday, we have no fair basis to complain unless it misses that, we are getting everything we have been promised. And what will the monkeys be able to do about it?

Some really bad guesswork:

According to google, it is currently 2:58 AM Friday (CST) in China. Now, I'm not sure when freight airplanes fly, but, it would seem logical to me for them to use the early morning slots, like all the cheap airlines do in the uk. The flight from china to the uk is about 14 hours. I would expect that they will be likely to need to stop to refuel at least once, and possibly to rest the pilots (does anyone know how this kind of thing works. I would have enough pilots so that some can sleep while others fly, but, I'm not sure which is more expensive, paying the pilots, or paying for the space the park the plane for 8 hours).

Really, the point I am trying to make it that the touches will likely not even get into this country until at the earliest late on friday. Then, they will likely be moved to the distribution centres on saturday/sunday, and shipped out to us on the Monday, and this is the best case scenario that I can see. I still feel tues is more likely.

Oh, and, does anyone have more of a clue about international commercial shipping? If so, I'm sure my ideas of how it all works are way off, and desperately need correcting. So, care to do so?
 
i would love it for monday (short day at college so i have a good chance of being in for it) but it i cant see that happenining. Mid week?

either way it will be to long to wait!

Im well pleased aswell as i found out mine is a week 38:)

what if they have already been shipped? my order status changed this afternoon and I didnt get a confirmation email until this evening, other people had theirs dispached two days ago.

Uh, you realise that you are sitting in a forum, on the internet, waiting for the latest overpriced high tech gadget?

Lots of us had "preparing to ship" two days ago, but, I only saw one guy claiming that his had actually shipped, and frankly I always found that abit suspicious. And by your time frame, his should have arrived today, and, I don't see him mentioning receiving it here. Also, I presume that the boxes must be in some way transported from the warehouse to the airplane, and then loaded. And, they will ship them all at once, since, well, that just makes sense, putting as much as you can on one plane. Even if they are in the air now, they can only have been for a short time. That still means arrive in UK friday, move to delivery depot by saturday, ship out on monday. I would love to be wrong, but, I don't think it's likely here.

are you talking about me? i had a card from DHL today with the same parcel number as my currys dispatch email. it's being re-delivered tomorrow, but i can upload the DHL card and shipping email screencap with the same parcel number. not that i think it'd prove much more since everything can be photoshopped so easily these days...

anyway, its not like i'd benefit from lying about it!

Reading this thread just gets me more and more depressed that mine is still on “Not yet shipped” status (was ordered by phone at 20.08PM on Thursday 13th September), this is my first time buying from apple and by the looks it started out as a bad one =/
