I worded it very badly. I meant this is not like the very initial launch of the product for the first time anywhere in the world. Plus the language Apple have used on the site about delivery being no later than 28th, implying it could be earlier.

Ah right :) I wasn't trying to be bitchy or whatever, just didn't know what you meant. :p

Why would TNT call the original poster? Tomorrow TNT are delivering hundreds of thousands of items all over the UK. Since when do they call everybody the day before to check whether they will be home?

My iPad is coming via TNT, and nobody has called me. I wouldn't expect them to.

I am obviously lying then. Apologies.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delivery May 27th yeaahhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wuhuuuuuuuuuu

Holy frick, me too. Apple store tracking has just updated to reflect that.

Ye gods -- if it's true, I hope it comes before about half five when I have to go out to rehearsal. If not I am going to have to call UPS and ask them to hold it until Friday. Which will break my heart but it would have to be done !

Well... I hope this is correct. Although I couldn't see Apple letting TNT or UPS deliver them any earlier than Friday, but fingers crossed anyway :( Mine's still in Netherlands apparently.. Even though I ordered at like.. 00:01 on the morning Preorders went live. :p Mine should be at the front of the queue in Nuneaton! Not Arnhem!!

Yeah Ive written about that on the other thread, we were unlucky because we ordered early ours left the factory first but then got stuck due to Lord Buddhas birthday in HK!

Even worse I live in Nuneaton but my iPad isnt here. Maybe I should stand outside the TNT depot and wave at every lorry that leaves :D

It seems quite feasible to me that certain local TNT depots might take the approach of phoning customers, especially if they are trying to balance their workload across Thursday and Friday and dont want to waste a lot of time trying to deliver on Thursday to people who wont be there.

I'm going to call off a doctors appointment first thing in the morning after I let TNT confirm it's going to be delivered

There are going to be a hell of a lot of people disappointed tomorrow...

Or one person, you, because you were told something that wasnt true and then spoke here as if it was the gospel truth.

You might be right, you might be wrong, I think I will bet against you in this case and stick to my original predition on page 5 of this thread that Thursday is quite possible.

Request

I have a request to all those UPS people that have delivery estimates of 27th May, could you update this thread when/if your tracking changes, that way those of us with delivery estimates of ...umm... yesterday can have an idea of what's going on. We will be most grateful! :)

Ok, something's happening now at UPS.

My O2 SIM card no longer shows the exception (UPS internal activity), has "Origin scan: Frankfurt, DE and is "in transit".

The iPad tracking no. still shows the exception, however.
I'm hoping that will change within the next hour or so.

People! Calm!

My Apple "track this shipment" says it was dispatched on the 24th and estimated delivery date is 25th, and i can assure you i don't have it! Notice in brackets it says subject to change.

I can only assume the website tracking is automated and dependant on stock, customer location, etc. Were it an ordinary product i would probably get it within 24-48 hours of being shipped, but as has been stated a million times release date is 28th.

Assume its then until otherwise informed, dont EXPECT it 2moro if at all possible.

obviously there will be some lucky people who get it 2moro, but they will be in the minority i can assure u.

Interesting, like lots of others here mine is being shipped with TNT UK Ltd, and earlier today my consignment number started to work for this delivery (rather than for a delivery in March to Turkey).

Well, that's not the interesting bit, the interesting bit is that now if I track via my consignment number on the TNT International site it lists the last status as being in transit in Nuneaton at about 3:30 today, however, if I track via the consignment number on the TNT UK site, it says "please call".

So I called...

The girl basically said that they put that there so that people would "please call" tomorrow to find out for sure when they would be delivered. She also said that "they haven't actually been picked up yet" [presumably from Apple].

I was marginally worried at first when I saw the "please call" but at least on the TNT International site I can still see it as "in transit" and hopefully will get some other updates later tonight.

Very much a left-hand-and-right-hand-not-knowing-what-the-other-is-doing situation, I think...

Well as the OP was thinking I was going to get it a day early, not a chance as in Arnhem at the mo LOL

I have two en-route. Both identical 64Gb 3G. One with TNT one with UPS.

Very nice lady at TNT has given me the name of the manager at my local depot where I can collect it from tomorrow. It is currently en-route from Nuneaton (she says).

UPS not quite so helpful. Apple in a terrible pickle over the massive deliveries (he said) and can't give me any indication of when they might receive them.

I seem to have given over the last four days of my life to this forum. How can this have happened? Can anyone confirm that I'm not the only middle-aged woman here? I have a feeling I'm in the minority......
